The only thing was that the upper floor in our room was very hot (air conditioning did not get there). It took us 2 nights to get a fan that made it a bit better. Other than that everything was perfect!

The hotel was excellent! The staff’s attitude and service were truly above and beyond. They kindly upgraded our room and were very generous throughout our stay. When we mentioned that it was my husband’s birthday, they even sent a cake to our room, which was a lovely surprise. The food was also excellent overall, and there is no doubt that we will return again. The cleanliness was generally good, but there is some room for improvement. On the first day, the shampoo bottle in our room was empty, and the hand soap dispenser was also empty. We felt that the overall quality and attention to detail in the room cleaning could be improved.

It had a pretty ocean view and a nice breakfast. The rooms all have bathtubs next to the bed. There is no private bath area. The onsite restaurants for dinner were expensive.
-
The rooms . The pool You can not see the sea from the room
-
Nothing was bad about this place.
-
So big and designed well , the staff were so nice and the rooms are big!’ Nada!

I don't think you should take money for water in dinner , it's not a cheap hotel and I think that taking money for water is a bit not fair
-
Entire resort is designed for you to sit down, relax with drink or a good food and enjoy amazing views. We had half board so each morning and evening we were enjoying amazing foods and drinks from terraced restaurant with evening sun sets.

* Pool daybeds located (almost) in the pool are 150 Euro credit expanse for F&B. Other daybeds are free.

breakfast options. though it was buffet style with some a la carte. there wasnt a lot of options for someone who was pregnant a lot of raw food, and the bacon and eggs were always not cooked well done so I had to request it to be.

Overall, the hotel itself is very pleasant and luxurious in terms of the premises, the pool area, and the general atmosphere. It’s definitely a great place to spend a comfortable vacation, whether as a couple or as a family. Now, regarding the dining experience: the main dining room is really nice, the service there is quite good, and there’s a wide variety of food options for both breakfast and dinner if you’re on half-board. You can also order individual dishes, and overall the meals are quite varied and enjoyable. However, there are a few problematic points I’m not satisfied like the room maintenance was not up to a high standard. We had a room with a private pool, which was lovely, but there were ants in the room despite the cleaning staff’s efforts. You really couldn’t leave any food uncovered. Another issue was the difficulty in opening and closing the balcony windows every time you going outside especially when you pay extra for a room with pool. The hotel faces the sea, so you’d expect to open the windows easily to let in fresh air or jump to the pool , Unfortunately, the windows were stiff, and even after I complained several times and asked for maintenance assistance, no one came. I had to eventually handle it myself with some oil to improve the situation, which is really not acceptable for a hotel of this caliber. They didn’t offer to move us to another room either. I took 2 rooms both had same issue , my son and my grandpa couldn’t open it alone. Communication with the front desk was poor. If you make multiple requests at once over the phone—like asking for extra pillows soap towels etc…they often got lost or never followed up. Facilities are great , you can find nice beaches within 15-35 min driving if you really like to get sea time.

The beautiful property and grounds, clean and comfortable room, attentive staff, variety of dining locations and delicious food options, and excellent service. The constant booming bass coming from Buddha bar. Sometimes, you just want to chill out and only hear ocean waves.

Our stay at the Abaton Island Resort & Spa was, for the most part, a wonderful experience. We were there to celebrate a special occasion, and the high-level facility, which feels truly premium, provided a beautiful backdrop. The choice of restaurants for our dinner was excellent, and the overall treatment we received from the staff was very good. I must give special and recognition to several team members who made our stay truly exceptional. *Julieta* from the customer service team was incredibly professional and helpful. In the restaurants: Polina and Heleni were simply outstanding. My son has a severe gluten allergy, and their support was invaluable. They were consistently attentive and deeply supportive, ensuring every meal was safe. Their diligence allowed us to relax and dine with complete peace of mind, and for that, we are incredibly grateful. However, despite the excellent food and service, there was one consistent issue that soured our dining experience every single evening. Despite being on a half-board plan, we were required to pay for water at dinner. The charge was a steep €5 for each small 750ml bottle. while the Abaton Resort is a stunning property with a fantastic team—especially staff like Julieta, Polina, and Heleni—this water policy is a significant flaw. It feels unbecoming of a five-star resort and leaves guests feeling "nickel-and-dimed" at the end of every meal. We would still recommend the hotel for its service and quality, but we strongly urge the management to reconsider this policy. Including still water with the half-board dinner would be a small change that would greatly improve the guest experience and align it with the resort's otherwise high standards of luxury and fairness. Despite the excellent facility, food and service, there was one consistent issue that was very disappointing : experience every single evening. Despite being on a half-board plan, we were required to pay for a water at dinner. The charge was €5 for each small 750ml bottle. What also made this policy feel particularly unfair was the service practice surrounding it. The waitstaff were trained to constantly and proactively top up our glasses. This meant that a bottle was finished very quickly, often leading us to order a new one. A simple dinner for two could easily end with a significant extra charge just for water—a basic necessity. This practice felt less like attentive service and more like a strategy to maximize sales on an overpriced item. I can totally understand charging for alcohol, or other special drink, but for water!!!?? This is basic! Especially at premium hotel like Abaton

It was elegant with great service and wonderful breakfast Having many steps in the rooms and to the private pool. The fact that each building is dedicated to a specific type of room- so if you want two rooms with different capacities next to each other, that wouldn’t be possible. But Ms Aspa - reservation helped us a lot in getting somewhat close rooms for our family. Thank you very much

Nothing. Room was totally broken. At the reception we’ve been told that this is the only room left and that’s it! Everything. The attitude for Israeli people was worst. And we could fill it. Never going back there!

We had a small issue at the beginning, nevertheless, special thanks to Mr. Vasius Stavrakakis who made sure we have a wonderful well spent time at the hotel and the restaurant,, we truly appreciate him solving our issue and taking care of us

A beautifully designed luxury resort offering stunning sea views, spacious rooms, and top-tier service. The atmosphere is serene and elegant, with excellent dining options and a relaxing spa. Ideal for couples or anyone seeking a peaceful escape with easy access to nearby attractions. A refined, tranquil gem on the Cretan coast. Service can occasionally be inconsistent — for example, we ordered drinks listed on the menu that turned out to be unavailable. At WOW, the food is delicious, but all meat cuts start at 300g, which may be excessive for those with a smaller appetite.

The staff was unhelpful and misleading. I had an emergency and needed their assistance but they did not help during our stay and also after it ended. I was very disappointed.

Everything, and I'm super picky. They did so many important things right, that the tiny things that maybe weren't perfect didn't matter. I'm an ex luxury hotel Manager, to give you some context. Just go. Walls are thin & you hear your neighbors.
