Conveniently located, Urangan Hervey Bay Flashpackers is a 7-minute drive from Urangan Pier . It is also 9 minutes’ drive from Reef World Aquarium. Guests can enjoy free social events each week, including BBQ night, Cheese and Wine night, Movie and games night! Our tour desk is available to book whale-watching cruises and K'gari Island tours. Accommodations options include private rooms and dormitories, with some rooms featuring access to communal bathroom facilities. Bed linen, towels, and pillows are provided in all rooms. Please note that guests above 40 years old are not allowed in shared dormitories. Please note that check-in requires a passport, phone number, and a valid credit card for a $25 deposit, which covers any potential lost key charges. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. It was a laid back vibe, and the free breakfast was simple, but great. The room was clean and all amenities were as well. The location was okay… I could walk to a few restaurants, but there wasn’t a grocery store that was in walking distance.

Very nice hostel, large, very well kept kitchen including free breafast with waffles. Nice pool, TV, lots of books/DVDs etc. Rooms clean. Staff good, allowed early check in (assuming room free) and very low rate to keep bags whilst visiting Fraser Island. It's a long way from the centre of Hervey Bay so would be really good if the hostel ran a free shuttle bus to the centre, otherwise it's a 1 hour walk along the beachfront.

lots to do or do-nothing great position great showers great room staff spent most of his time in the movie room so no one else could use, twice he slept in and open for breakfast late grounds need a big clean up this would be a big plus most cook tops not working

Pickup from bus station They did not serve the breakfast at the time they said. Trash was not taken out and washrooms did not have toilet paper

Excellent hostel. Fantastic kitchen including free breakfast, great waffles. Friendly staff, great to be able to store bags cheaply whilst on Fraser Island. Pool, TV room etc. all very nice. Stayed in private twin which was excellent, kids stayed in dorms that were good too. Is about a 1 hour walk from central town so would be useful to run a free shuttle occasionally during the day (as per other out of town hostels in other resorts). Reception staff didn't seem overly familiar with local companies operating tours etc to Fraser Island which would have been useful although they do have lots of printed materials.
