The owners were friendly, and the onsen was nice. Being close to the ocean was also nice. The cost of the stay was much too high.

Homey feel with traditional vibes, you can book the baths and have a good soak. Staff were extremely accommodating and very friendly. Good if you want to get away from the bustle of the city. Site is cash only and I didn’t know before hand, an older style inn with only 1 western toilet upstairs so there’s often a line up if it’s busy. Walls are pretty thin so you can hear others but there are quiet hours to address this.

Window size. Late check-in. Onsen water was too hot. The walls are thin and you can hear everything in the house from the room. We arrived 1 hour earlier before check-in. It was strong rain. The owner didn't suggest waiting in the lobby was unwelcoming to see us early. we had to wait outside under the rain. Almost whole time we stay He was sitting in lobby on sofa using cellphone. Next morning, checking out, I forgot the birthday cake with candles in the lobby refrigerator. Tried to contact the hotel by booking system and phone. No answer. When I arrived back at the hotel a few hours after checking out, no one was there. No answering calls. I haven't got my cake back. In this part of izu there is no place to buy cake. So if you have birthday, bring it from bigger town and try not to forget in hotel...

Traditional Japanese B&B. Silence, Wa-style toilet, Huton(Japanese bed), good owner, he can speak chinese. And hot spring is almost private. Far from 7-11.
