The view and air conditioning We booked a room for 8 days at this hotel and made the mistake of paying the full amount on arrival. The hotel would not accept card payments so we paid in cash. Despite asking for a receipt and being promised one, we never got one. The location was great and the view was great. Nothing else was great. In he first room we were given (#5), the door would not shut and eventually the hinge gave away after a few times of trying to shut it. They came and tried to fix it but the door would still not shut. The bathroom door would not close at all and you could barely get any water out of the shower. The windows were opaque and therefore had no ocean view as advertised. He then showed us a second room right next to the first. The door shut but the shower barely dripped any water. Then we went to the 2nd floor (room #15) and he showed us a larger room with a view and we took it. Later that night we realized that the toilet tank was leaking a lot all over the floor. It looked as thought the toilet had been leaking for at least a year. It was impossible to sit on the toilet without getting your feet and legs wet. We asked the host to fix it or give us another room that did not have problems. He said he would look into it and gave us a towel to put on the floor. We would have checked out the second day but we did not have a receipt and had not proof of payment. On the 5th day, we requested clean towels and we got maid service that day. There is no daily maid service offered. In each of the rooms we were shown, there was no top sheet on the bed. We had to ask for a power strip to plug in the little refrigerator in the room. The power strip we were given was old and worn out and a fire hazard. There were only two working lights out of six in the room. The place is old and tired. The balcony door had to be left ajar as there was no knob or handle to pull the door shut on the outside. As a result, mosquitoes entered the room and we got chewed on at night.

Perfect renovation, very clean, the owners don't bother to mess around!

Great location. Expensive considering the poor state of the accommodation and rooms. The owner charged us more for a pot of tea than the restaurant down the road.
