Happy Life Grand Hotel & Sky Bar

Decent hotel, bad breakfast, staff barely spoke english. Good value for £40 a night though.

Such a great team working at the happy life Jade goes above any place i have stayed to help and to even book and sort tours getting u cold drinks and making sure everything is spot on fresh fruit and water to your room everyday or if you asked. Moon who cleaned room done a great job also and happy to bring fresh towels if you asked Triexi was also helpful when Jade was not around or was busy helping someone else Ruby waitress was a great worker also they all were dont know any other names to mention location is great to the main market and some great food spots. Norah Spa next door is a must if you stay they will give u the best and best value massage in the city ill be back in november and ill be staying here again great value great people

Lovely room with a separate bathroom which appealed to us. Restaurant meal was ok but not wonderful The pool and sky bar are in need of a facelift

Nice reception area. Comfortable bed and quiet room. Great staff. The pool deck was good and we enjoyed the rooftop cocktails. The little gym was handy and had a nice view. Breakfasts were excellent and the restaurant was nice and bright. 15 minute walk to the river, but very close to the covered market and the art museum, which was excellent. The room was small and a bit tired. The bathroom was tiny and water went onto the floor when using the shower. There was some noise from the adjacent building site, but not bad.

They offer a good breakfast with a wide-variety of options. The room was clean, and the location was close to tourist attractions. Staff, especially their concierge are really helpful. We like the ambiance of their rooftop bar with the pool, its really relaxing. Just that during our stay, there's a renovation happening at the lobby. And also, no early check-in for us :( albeit I know its upon availability but still I expected just a little.

The shower leaked through the bottom of the bathtub flooding the floor & making it very slippery & the hand basin wouldn’t empty water out

Property is beautiful. Staff was amazing. Bed hard as a rock, pillow were pretty good. Towel were old and dingy and stained.

The property is in an ideal location in district one. It is close to everything but also being on a side street meaning the traffic isn’t as bad as it is on the main streets. The Ben Thanh markets are about a 5 minute walk. The hotel has literally hundreds of great eats all around. The rooms have great showers with really good water pressure which we found was not common in the hotels we stayed in across Vietnam. The rooms come in various sizes. We had booked a standard room which didn’t have a window however the hotel moved us to a larger room with a window after our second night which wasn’t at our request but a great touch from the hotel. The staff were really attentive and made sure we were happy throughout our stay with a big shout out to Binh who looked after us above and beyond. The breakfasts can get busy and if there is a large group who all have breakfast at once it might mean a short wait for a table. We found the rooms clean and comfortable. The beds were a little hard but this was very much the common theme in the six different hotels we stayed in across Vietnam. We noted that some of the other reviews mentioned renovation works during their stay however they appear to be all complete. Given the hotels central location you do get a bit of street noise in the hotel. We were on the second floor and are generally early to bed and early risers and didn’t find this to be intrusive and it actually added to the experience of staying centrally in Saigon. The only negative we had from our stay is the shower over the bath. However we tried to direct the shower head it did end up with a wet bathroom floor but the staff were happy to provide additional towels. This is more of a watch point for those who may have mobility issues as the first room we had didn’t have a bath so it’s something you could request at booking.

All of the staff were welcoming upon arrival and amazing service and hospitality throughout the entire stay. Jade, Trixie, Long, Ryan and Trung just to name a few. I can’t remember all of the dames but everyone was awesome!!! I didn’t stay long enough! That was the only bad thing.

Great location in the heart of District 1! Very nice staff! Facilities are getting old, mostly the bathroom…. No outside window. Small swimming pool for a big hôtel .4 stars??

Great location and very friendly staff. They have a great breakfast buffet as well. We enjoyed our stay.

Room was spacious, clean, breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Roof Top Bar was a bit of a disappointment, was not available at times, limited drink selection when available.

Close to the shops. Action. Clubs. Pubs. Etc. Very clean attentive staff. Just what we needed Nothing

Great location to access Ho Chi Minh attractions. Staff were very professional and helpful. Could not fault all aspects Jade and her staff made us feel very welcome, hotel amenities were in great condition and very clean

We had some difficulties contacting the property. We kept receiving emails saying our payment hadnt been received, and our booking would be cancelled, they said there have been scam emails but didnt let us know when we asked if the payment had gone through. Which left us concerned and still are about our credit card details.

Room was quite small but good for short a short stay. Breakfast venue was very small but nice food. The housekeeping staff were talking very loudly in the hallways which kept up awake.

It has been a pleasure meeting Jade, she was very hospitable, very nice and very helpful
