About Romer House Waikiki

Nestled between the International Marketplace and the Ala Wai Canal, Romer House is a love letter to the neighborhood, and the rich artistic culture of O‘ahu. Each of the 179 hotel rooms is a tribute to Waikīkī’s Mid-Century apartment buildings, with most opening to private lanais. Downstairs, an energetic restaurant, 855-ALOHA features island-inspired dishes meant to share over long nights of drinks, while the second-floor pool club offers a relaxed, splash-zone-free, social atmosphere. Romer House Waikiki is the second iteration of the Romer brand with its sister hotel in Hell's Kitchen in New York City. Romer House joins a neighborhood that is already energized, so instead provides the calm but inviting backdrop for the guest to check in, and get out. Romer House Waikiki is committed to providing its guests and associates with a smoke free environment. Smoking tobacco, pipes, vapes, e-cigarets and marijuana is strictly prohibited within the hotel. By booking through this website, you acknowledge that the hotel has installed smoking detection sensors in its rooms. These sensors enable hotel management to respond to smoking events without disrupting your stay. You hereby agree and consent to the use of such sensor in your room and acknowledge and agree that it is 100% privacy compliant and required by the hotel to ensure a smoke-free stay for all guests. By acknowledging the foregoing, you agree to waive any future claims related to the presence of the sensor in a room you may book. Tampering with the sensor is strictly prohibited. Oversize photography by renowned surf photographer Arto Saari greets you at reception – immediately telling the story of community and Hawaiian tradition. The front desk features carved charred wood motifs – indicative of wood carving in traditional Hawaiian culture. The space is modern but approachable– a fresh take on Hawaiian, and specifically Waikiki, culture. Neighborhood cocktail bar and lounge, The Lei Stand, grows its roots in Waikīkī with fresh new digs, beloved old favorites and a celebration of Hawai‘i’s beauty and traditions through modern mixology, snackable bites and tales of aloha and flowers. Stayed here for a long weekend family trip to move my daughter into her college apartment. Hotel staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Downstairs bar and restaurant were convenient and good quality. Location was ideal, close to shops, restaurants and bars. Two block walk to the beach and the main Waikiki strip, or you can cut through the international market place. We loved our stay. We had a hurricane during our stay and the staff handled everything really well. Would definitely stay again! Average pricing compared to others in Waikiki.

Location The hotel is completely overwhelmed and operating far beyond its capacity. At breakfast, a few understaffed servers work incredibly hard, but it is not enough to prevent long lines and extensive wait times. The reception desk suffers from the same issue, with agonizingly long queues to check in or get assistance. We booked an upgraded room, but the exhaust fan made an unbearable amount of noise—it literally felt like sleeping in a factory NOT a relaxed vacation. After repeated complaints, maintenance disconnected the power a day later. However, the wind kept spinning the loose fan blades, creating a constant banging noise reminiscent of a construction site. Because of the lack of ventilation, the wet towels developed a foul, musty smell. The room itself makes noise constantly, and the balcony was very dirty. Amenities are severely lacking: you get a kettle but no tea or coffee, and a pen but no paper. To make matters worse, the Chromecast on the TV did not work at all, despite maintenance trying to fix it. Finally, housekeeping was scheduled for every two days, but due to a staff shortage, our room wasn't cleaned until the fourth day.

Location. This was a total nightmare and definitely not worth the money. The room was very dirty when we checked in. We literally had to go down to reception to ask them to move us to the different room . On top of that, we found cockroaches in our room! Moreover we are two healthy, able-bodied adults, but they placed us in an accessible/disabled room for some reason, however wa paid for normal room with normal shower. The towels had actual holes in them, and the replacement ones smelled so heavily of bleach it was nauseating. They claim to provide beach loungers, but in reality, you have to walk 15 minutes and carry cheap beach chairs yourself. They took a crazy $700 deposit ($100/day). We still haven't received it back. On checkout, they said breakfast would be taken from the deposit, but instead, they randomly charged another $400 from my card! I still have no idea what that charge was for. The room safe kept locking us out, so we had to call maintenance all the time. The bathroom power socket didn't work at all. And on our last day, the electronic door lock battery died, so we couldn't even get into our room. Save your money and stay somewhere else. This place is dirty, broken, and feels like a total scam with their charges.

Great location, next to many restaurants. The front desk staff was really friendly and helpful to give us customized travel suggestions given our tight timeline. We purchased the breakfast package with the hotel booking and it was pretty good! The valet parking staff was also very responsive and helpful! The parking is expensive but understandable.

    Exceptional

Bathroom was clean. The room service was every other day so 2 rolls of toilet paper weren’t enough for 4 people in 2 days .

Location was fabulous and the staff were all friendly and helpful Rooms were very small with very little storage, pool also smaller than anticipated

The room had a terrible smell since the moment we arrived. We had to go to target to buy carpet deodorizer, room air freshener and cleaning products for the bathroom. The shower walls had residue on them that looked to be dark droplets of something the floor in the bathroom was greasy, and the smell I can’t say enough of it. The cooler in the room wasn’t enough for the size as it was never to a comfortable enough temperature. The carpet had stains all throughout and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed before we arrived. I choose this particular hotel being that it had great reviews, unfortunately for me it did not hit the mark.

Location, comfortable beds, clean Wished there was daily housekeeping and replenishment of towels. Also, gym is at a different hotel, but still happy there was the option.
