Studio 6 Extended Stay Huntsville, AL - US Space & Rocket Center

Until they get their act together, I do not recommend this place.

Don’t go! Save your money.

The room was clean. Checkout and checkin were basically nonexistent; the posted hours were not maintained and it was hard to check in late, and nobody was available for checkout. Need to check back on my security deposit. The property was filthy with litter. Some maintenance person woke everyone up with a leaf blower outside all the rooms. On the up side, no moldiness or odd odors, and the linens were clean. AC was good.

The location was good. The room layout was nice and the shower worked great. The water didn't taste bad. The room smelled like menthol cigarettes despite being labeled as non-smoking, and the previous occupant had covered the smoke detector with a plastic bag that had not been removed. Our clothes picked up the cigarette smell and stank for the rest of our trip. There was only 1 housekeeper and they were insanely overworked, so few things were clean. Lots of the linens were lightly stained, there was a piece of rotting meat in the sink, and the floor was visibly dirty in places. Additionally, we were told upon arrival that because they had to hire a new housekeeper there was an additional $10 fee plus $2 per night utility fee that was not mentioned beforehand. We had to specifically request 6 different items for the room that were missing upon entering, including pillow cases, toilet paper, and bath towels. We were unable to get bath towels for our entire two night stay because the laundry had not been cleaned, so we had to use hand towels after showering. They only offered 1 very thin sheet for the bed, which was not sufficient. The staff did not come up to fix any of these issues when we called the front desk about them, so we had to go down to the office and wait a while for help every time.

While the room was decent I reserved 2 beds and was told there are none when I checked in, gave me a rollaway bed for the 2nd . This was after waiting over 30 minutes and 2 calls to get someone to check us in .. after showering we tried to get clean towels but was told there is none so I left 1 day early.. definitely won’t stay at this place again

When I arrived on the property the desk person acted like it was a chore for her to do her job. When I had to extend my room a second time due to work I did everything on line and then at 10:30 pm they gave someone a key to room saying their computer showed it being empty and tried to rent it out. After the clerk showed up at my door a few minutes later saying she'd get back with me about the mix up. At 10:45 she called my room waking me up for a 2nd times saying I need to come to the front desk to pay a $2 fee in the next 15 minutes or vacant my room. The room itself wasn't too bad, dead roaches in the cabinets, microwave filthy and no toilet paper. And if you don't mind being approached by prostitutes everytime you pull up in the parking lot.

Exceptional

The room was clean that's the only good thing I can say. After staying at the same hotel for 10 years because it is close to the hospital. When it changed ownership it has went down hill. I asked for a bottom floor because of my husband's health he had to have surgery at Huntsville Hospital main that's why we always have to stay close to the hospital and have been staying at this same place for over 10 years now not only for the price but the place has always been clean. NOT anymore not only do they charge you for EVERYTHING now but is not kept clean we were put on the top floor and had to use the elevator it was smoked in. The property is falling apart the roof you can see threw the place where you check in stinks of pot and flowers trying to cover the smell and have to wait 20 minutes to get checked in. I did not see and fees on Hotels but checking in I was told that there is a small utility fee.

They closed at 11pm so I couldn’t check in

Location very convenient to the Space Center. Room was relatively quiet. There are additional fees when you check in. The room was not fully cleaned with an unflushed toilet and dirty towels.

We got there and I had booked a two bed but they said they were out of two bed rooms, so we got two rooms instead and the two rooms we got both had people already staying in there, so we got a third room and the fire alarm was hanging by just wires

Bad

It was a very nice comfortable room and I had a very nice location close to my work the beds were comfortable in the rooms for clean Well it was I didn't dislike anything but there was an incident that I must tell you about on the morning of the 7th I found the maintenance man I passed out in the elevator I called 911 because he was gasping for air I had to do chest compressions on him until the fire department showed up to where they could render aid to him I kept him alive until they showed up it was something I didn't mind doing because I didn't want to see him die

Didn't get to use the room because it was given to someone else. They gave my confirmed room away after telling me it would be ready when I got there.

Bad

When I arrived to check in the office was closed and had a number to call. When I called the number they refused to give me a room, saying that they were sold out and that I missed check in time. The woman on the phone was very rude and started to curse at me.

Quiet Ac was bad

Seems understaffed and not well maintained on the outside but room was clean. We wanted a cheap option since we wanted to be close to and get an early start for the space rocket center the next day. There are better options nearby for a bit more money.
