Golden Sun Hotel - Hurghada

And efficient. Walking distance to the Marina area. The rooms are outdated and drafty. No heating in winter so I asked for a second blanket.

I was in Hurghada during the first week of this year's Ramadan. At around 6pm, I intended to ask a member of staff in the hotel to recommend me to a nice restaurant nearby. To my surprise, a group of 5 staff members invited me to have dinner with them in the cafe corner of the hotel. We shared food and made jokes. Some staff are Muslims whereas others are Christians. Yet, we simply shared the table together. This is what travel is all about: meeting new friends and sharing kindness. Here, I want to thank Asmda, Hana, Ami, Michael and Mahmoud, for making the stay in Egypt so special!

the paid breakfast was affordable and they packed it in a box for our day trip. The front desk staff gave us free tropical fruit drinks at the start and end of our stay. Mousa was very helpful with recommending ubers vs taxis, locations of ATMs, and other recommendations. 10 min walk from the marina for day trips, and for a paid private beach that we did not visit. my room was great but had very poor wifi. In the reception the wifi worked well.

The facility was very basic and needed a lot of attention. The air-condition wasn't working well and loud. I'm lucky I was there only for few hours to catch my early flight out of the airport.

The room was excellent value for the money! The hotel is very well located, with the marina just walking distance. There is also a bar within the hotel which was a plus, as finding bars selling alcohol in Hurghada proved to be difficult. Since the hotel is in a small street off the main avenue, it was quiet at night. The staff was kind. Wifi worked perfectly and was fast, which is always nice. The breakfast was only OK, I would have liked fresh fruits.

Breakfast was awful. The noise from the bar at night. On our first night there was a big fight with lots of shouting. Oh and packs of dogs barking all night long. The air con looked like it was the first one ever built. It was so old and sounded like a train going through the room. So be hot or disturbed by the noise. It would benefit from some upgrades.

The beds are not comfortable, The AC sound is very high and annoying. The street voices are loud. Still, you get what you paid for. After all, I am satisfied compared to the price.

The location was perfect . The hotel was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Location in the prime area and most affordable cost. Every single thing you would need is at a walkable distance. Staff is what makes this place excellent. Ali, Mohammed, Mr. Samir and support staff make this place joyful. They would do everything above and beyond to make your stay super comfortable.
