To start with, after arriving from a long walk under the sun, I was surprised that the host did the check-in outside at the small hut instead of inviting me inside to the reception area, where I could sit down and cool off with the air conditioning. It was an unusual first impression. One of the biggest downsides was the Wi-Fi, which unfortunately didn’t work at all during my stay. There is a strict silence rule after 11 p.m., meaning guests are not allowed to stay in the common area (the outdoor kitchen area), not even to have a quiet conversation with a friend or make a phone call. If you stay there, the host will shout out from her upstairs window and remind you to follow the rules. While I understand the importance of respecting quiet hours, the way it was enforced felt uncomfortable.

Comfortable and well located with a nice view. Also has a nice kitchen

Luka’s lodge was super clean and well equipped. It was a quick walk from the downtown area. The staff were friendly and responsive. Nothing!

Our host was amazingly helpful, friendly, accommodating. The balcony was fantastic. This is VERY typical in Hvar but you must ascend many steps OR navigate a longer route with roads if you have luggage on wheels. Either way, well worth the hike to amazing view!
-
Only downside, not the best WiFi/service
-
it’s not far from the old town, the staff is very helpful and the kitchen and bathrooms were cleaned every day. nothing:)

Many kittens walk around and it's the cutest!

I had a wonderful stay at Luka's Lodge! I felt treated like family by the staff, and enjoyed my time exploring Hvar! The patio here is nice with an ocean view and everything was very clean. I appreciate that each room has its own AC, mini fridge, and bathroom too! It's a 5 minute walk out of the center, but honestly I didn't mind being up on the hill and it's right next door to the lone yoga studio on the island so that ended up being a perk. Wifi downstairs in the kitchen was a bit flakey for video calls, but sitting on the upstairs terrace solved that problem! Cell service is also good anyway so that wasn't an issue.

No place to sit comfortably outside of room. No curfew hours for quiet time at night.

Overall clean and quiet. Unprofessional atmosphere. Felt more like someone’s house than a formal hostel. Front staff was not always physically available.

Comfortable and cleanest Nothing

The hostel was really clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff she was super helpful and friendly! - Climbed 10 mins endless stairs with luggage from port that was really tough! - Mosquitoes everywhere in the room and outside, it’s impossible to chill out at any places, even the outdoor dining spaces were really nice and clean. - the aircon in room didn’t work, we have asked staff several times but never fixed. There was no fresh air in the room, so hot, and we were unable to open windows cus the mosquitoes. It’s really tough two days!

Comfy mattress, lovely outdoor kitchen space No hot water in the shower in my room

I liked the patio The location is terrible. It’s as high up as you possibly can go. Other hostels are in-town. This one you have to climb so many stairs and navigate so many little streets. For the price they charge I’d look to other hostels, it just wasn’t worth it. Hostel is nice otherwise

The staff was welcoming and friendly, giving me recommendations of where to go, how to get around in Hvar. The bed was comfortable, there was air conditioning in the rooms (much needed during summer), there was a good kitchen, the bathroom was clean. If I ever go back to Hvar I'll definitely stay at Luka's again. They are quite strict with quiet times which was very much appreciated. Also, just adding here that not all rooms have views but that was not an issue for myself at all. The common area does have a nice view of the sea and sunset. Nothing, I had a great time!

bad bad wifi at the apartment, the one at the hostel was fine. missing garbage in the bathroom, especially when its girls… missing simple stuff in the bathroom like a rug not to slip, maybe add something to put/carry shampoo and soap etc. and give more than one towel when people are staying a few days in a row. bed not comfortable at all…
-
the property was not cleaned well. we asked for towels and took a full day to get them. the wifi does not work at all

Awesome kind, knowledgeable staff with clear rules (necessary in a hostel). Facilities were clean with a cooking space and available ac. Top notch.
