The ambience and coziness of the place, from the welcoming lobby to the comfortable rooms, made a wonderful impression. What truly stood out was the friendliness of the staff—always warm, attentive, and willing to go above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. R&J Guesthouse is truly a place of comfort—a welcoming pitstop that feels just like home, full of warmth and genuine hospitality. There's nothing we don't like about this place.

We stayed in a Quadruple Room for five nights, and it was ideal for our family of two adults and three children (ages 7, 5, and 2). The room featured two king-size beds, a balcony, plenty of space for the kids to move around, a TV with Netflix and YouTube for entertainment, WiFi, and adjustable air conditioning for both cooling and heating. The bathroom was spacious and equipped with a bathtub, a toilet bowl with heated seats, and a room warmer—perfect for colder weather. A great bonus was the selection of storybooks for all ages and board games available on the first floor, which added extra fun to our stay. Breakfast was freshly prepared by the hosts every morning, and the home-cooked meals were absolutely delicious. My kids looked forward to it each day! The hosts, Ryan and Joanne, were amazing—warm, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. Despite our late check-in at 9 PM, they went out of their way to welcome us and even helped reheat the food we had picked up from a convenience store. On our check-out day, breakfast wasn’t included, but they thoughtfully provided a local delicacy for us to enjoy before we hit the road. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture! The guesthouse is situated slightly away from the town area, offering a peaceful and quiet environment at night, which I personally preferred. While there are no food options or cafes within walking distance, the host kindly assisted us in ordering food through a delivery app. We rented a car during our stay, which made getting around much more convenient for our family, and the host provided free parking at the guesthouse. Although there is no onsite laundry service, the host graciously offered to take our dirty laundry to a self-service laundromat for washing, which was a thoughtful and helpful gesture.

It feels like staying abroad, like a US country house. The entire property used a lot of wooden floor, furnitures. The wallpaper has a boutique feeling. The smell of the house is vey good too.

The host was really nice and hospitable. He went an extra mile to offer us a free shuttle from the train station to the accoms when we were checking in. He also provided us some recommendations around Yilan The house was beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was homemade, really tasty and the owner gives a little intro on the food served, a detail that we appreciate. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again when we visit Yilan again! Nothing at all :)

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, we looked forward to breakfast everyday. Place was clean and cosy, staff were very friendly. There’s a lift as well, so not to worry if you brought more baggage.

The breakfast is the best breakfast I have ever eaten in an accomodation. The setting of the food is so artistically displayed that it looks too pretty to be eaten! Some food such as bread and yoghurt and candied fruit were thoughtfully prepared by the guesthouse. We were more than impressed. I even sourced for similar plating when I returned home, hoping to duplicate the experience. I also look forward to everyday's breakfast, dining in the absolutely beautiful rustic dining area. Nothing to fault.

Such a clean and comfy place. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive whilst giving a good balance of privacy. Breakfast was good. We had a lovely time here!! Want to gatekeep such a gem but it would be unfair for our lovely hosts. Will def recommend and bring our family in future. Nothing. Everything was superb.

Superb breakfast using fresh local ingredients. The owner gave us valuable information of sites and restaurants to visit. Parking is limited, but we found a place, so not a real problem.

Our room was elegant, well-lit with natural light, and super clean. The hosts were hospitable and attentive to details. They even acknowledged the purpose of our stay, leaving a thoughtful card and a surprise bottle of Moscato. The bed and pillow were a bit soft, but overall, it was incredibly comfy for relaxing.

where do we start?! we loveeed the place so much. the place is spotlessly clean (and this is coming from an ocd person). you could see every single detail was thought of - appliances included. shower was fantastic. breakfast was nutritious and yummy. only small thing to take note was parking lots a few mins away, but it’s no biggie, house owners allowed you to unload first (and even helped w our heavy luggages). we would definitely book again! really nothing to think of
