The woman who checked us in the room was so friendly! The Ness Suite was stunning with a great view of the castle and river. Worth the extra cost to book this! Breakfast was only so so and many items ran out by an hour before the end time.

The breakfast was very good. I would have liked a better view from my room - i was at the back which wasn't very appealing.

I will say that the bed was comfortable, and the staff did call a taxi for us, which we appreciated. However, based on the service issues, lack of cleanliness, and room condition, I would not recommend this hotel. Overall, our stay was disappointing because the hotel experience did not match the online photos or expectations, and several service and cleanliness issues made the visit frustrating. We arrived in Inverness and reached the hotel early. I had read online that luggage storage was available, so we stopped by before check-in. The staff said our room would be ready at 3 p.m., which was fine. However, the luggage storage area did not feel secure because it was next to the front desk, and the desk was often unattended while staff stepped away to run items to guests’ rooms. When we returned at 3 p.m., we were told we needed to wait another hour. We sat nearby because we both wanted to freshen up before doing any more exploring. Soon, other guests arrived and were given rooms. After seeing three other couples successfully check in, I asked again. This time, the staff asked for my name and gave us a room. Unfortunately, the room was not like the pictures online at all. The headboard was a beat-up aqua vinyl headboard, and the bathroom had peeling paint, mildew on the walls, and smelled strongly of mold and mildew. The bathroom sink was also very slow to drain. The next day, the hallways were littered with room service trays, glasses, and other items. Because the weather was warm, the food left on the trays caused the halls to smell like garbage.

Great location and staff were very helpful The window next to the bed was jammed/painted open so not ideal.

Great location! Rooms are a bit dated, there were holes in the floor that were covered with carpet but it’s an old building so it’s not surprising. Staff were great! Very stuffy but we asked for a fan and they gave us one.

Nice area near river. Also near Eden court where music under canvas was on and cinema. Had lovely meal in bar. Barman friendly and attentive. Comfy couch to relax on. Needs a bit updating and couldn't get shower working properly. Either too hot or too cold so found it a bit complicated. Couldn't shut window as seemed stuck with paint.

Very central and beautiful location. No tissue boxes in the rooms. Rooms are only looked after every other day. However, on the day, our towels were not removed, and the beds were not made. Also, the coffee supplies were not refreshed.

Good location overlooking the river, opposite the castle and close to various amenities. The breakfast was included in the price we paid and had a good variety. The rooms and public areas all felt very tired and in need of refurbishment. All the decor and woodwork was dull and scuffed and scruffy. The facilities in the room felt very limited and uninspiring. The furniture was very dated. We couldn't get the tv to work. The restaurant was closed on the evening we stayed there, without advance warning or explanation. Basically it felt like a trip back in time to the scruffy hotels my family sometimes stayed in in the 1970s and early 80s.

Breakfast Cleanliness of room - cobwebs, filthy skirting, dead flies in light, towel rail not working, no plug in sink, filthy doors. Very poor Tv reception. Room only serviced every two days
