Nice place for a short stay, very friendly and helpful staff.

The rooms are efficient, and the university is pretty new. The staff is very friendly. There are two communal fridges to use and a kitchen with stove/oven and microwave. There is a retail area close-by (about 10-15 mins walk) which has many stores, a Tesco and also an Aldi. We liked the laundry room, great for doing the laundry! The buildings are really not that far from the city center. On day 4, we found the a walking -path and it only took us a good 20 minutes of a walk. Unfortunately, no one told us we could walk. There is a bus station about 10 minutes from the dorm buildings. Busses don’t seem to operate by schedule, so it can be hit or miss. There os also a bus station right outside the building, but we were never able to catch a bus from there. Cabs to the city are £9-12. The check-in - or rather finding the building / reception was a disaster.the directions are incorrect, and the cab driver dropped us off in the middle of the campus (following the directions from booking.com and UHI). We called and only got a service, then could only leave a message on an answering machine - no callback.. We emailed with an urgent subject line, and only heard back a good day later. After schlepping our luggage around for 30 minutes, we finally found it. Inside the building, the hallways on floors 1 and higher are extremely hot, rooms are ok (but still pretty warm). The fan supplied gives little breeze. The kitchen was ill-equipped: no cups, glasses, and the water kettle was missing a couple of days. There was no tv in the room but in the common area. However, it did not work. We complained four days in a row -but wasn't’ fixed. There is also no soap at all (hand soap or shower soap) in the rooms, no shampoo, no lotion, no waste baskets, no hair dryer. Staff could not tell you about the buses and schedules. There are a few buses but the schedules posted are not correct. Nor are the schedules on the app(stagecoach). It is actually only a 20-25 mins walk to the city! But noone told us about it. We just tried GpS one night and it was much closer than the map / gps showed.

For the most part, the room was clean and we were able to check in late at night. There was no trash can AT ALL in the room or bathroom which is extremely inconvenient for anyone on their period who needs a place to dispose of products. Additionally, there was no hand soap and the bathroom floor was a bit dirty.

I understand that this is a budget accommodation, but almost nothing was as it should be. The heating wasn't working because it needed batteries. We arrived soaking wet and needed to dry our shoes, but that wasn't possible. The staff were very rude and seemed constantly irritated. The furnitures were falling apart. There was no light in the bathroom, the toilet wouldn't flush, and the shower was broken, making it impossible to adjust the water temperature. Overall, the maintenance of the property is well below an acceptable standard.

Surrounding bus transportation was unreliable according to staff. Had to walk farther to Inverness shopping mall to get to and from busses.

    Clean. Very helpful/warm staff

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

The room was clean and matched the description It was absolutely roasting hot, and there was no way to turn down the temperature and the staff lent said that’s the way the buildings were designed. The room was 28.5 degrees celcius.

Easy to park and convenient location, good instructions provided by host to find it. Easy check-in as staff were on site all night so didn't have to worry about being late. Short walk to retail park for groceries. Mattress was worn out with springs poking through, no toilet roll was in the room but this was provided when I went to ask staff. Floor was very dirty and generally room was a bit grubby. No bin in the room or bathroom, which I knew to expect from reviews but is still poor.

The building heating was so high I had to keep always the window open.

I stayed here for 4 weeks, for family reasons. It was warm and cosy, it had everything I needed. And as I was travelling alone it was nice to chat with other people in the shared kitchen - from holidaymakers to bus drivers ? I enjoyed wandering around the landscaped area and the lake in the morning and evening. Great value for money! I was on the ground floor, so I did tend to get people's cigarette smoke wafting into my room from the car park. The shower was very slippery so I had to buy a shower mat, though this hardly broke the bank!

Staff were helpful and room was clean. There were issues with the heating system that took some time to sort.

  • Engine customer Aug 2025

Price very affordable and in a pretty safe university neighborhood Dirty and stinky kitchen

  • Engine customer Aug 2025

It felt safe and there was free parking. The price was a little cheaper than a hotel. But DEFINITELY a college dorm room. As long as your expectation is that with basics, you’re good. The shower didn’t drain. So you are standing in dirty water. It was very hot and the window only opened a little. I saw some rooms had a fan but we didn’t.

Great locations and very clean. Staff was very friendly. For some reason the heat was on 24-7. There was no way to turn it off. Thankfully, I had read the reviews and came prepared with a fan. Bed were a little small for two people and uncomfortable but it was expected as It is a college dorm.

  • Engine customer Aug 2025

The room was very clean and sufficient size. Free parking was a plus The bed was so thin if you sat down too quickly you felt the wood beneath it. You could also feel every individual spring. The shower also barely drained. Took 45 mins

Stayed in an "efficency apartment" with small kitchenette, bed (attached to the wall), and desk, with in-suite bathroom. Very comfortable (except the bed). Staff was wonderful and was fun to talk with. Bed was uncomfortable. Microwave was a bit confusing to use.

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

The location is easily accessible to the city center by bus and it is adequately priced. The heat is ridiculous. I realize the accommodation was going to be unairconditioned, which is perfectly normal for Scotland, but I was unprepared for an internal room temperature of over 30 Centigradee, while it was under 20 outdoors. The staff was kind enough to give us a fan, which helped make it bearable. Everyday I dreaded returning to the accommodation. I can't imagine what it is like to be a long term resident there. We also had a stagnant sink and a shower that was difficult to turn lower than warm.

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

Location, ease of check-in The room was hot the entire stay. When we got into the room it was 34C and never got below 28C. We were provided a van which was nice. Also there was no hand soap in the bathroom.

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

Room was very warm all the time

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

No hand soap, or trash can in the room.
