This hotel is located in a rather advantageous location, not far from the main town of the island. Besides the rare city buses, you can take a taxi to the ferry terminal for as little as 1,000 yen or even walk there in 30 min. In fact, we were given not a classic hotel room, but a huge apartment of three rooms that could accommodate about 6-8 people. In addition, the hotel has helpful staff. One of them (unfortunately, I don’t know his name) spoke good English, which is very rare for Japanese hotels. Finally, the hotel offers a rather modest but acceptable breakfast. Apart from this, I can’t say anything good about this strange place. This hotel has a lot of oddities, awkward decisions and shortcomings, but I will name only one. In my opinion, it is enough. When you go to sleep, there will be earwigs crawling in your bed! They're not even cockroaches. They are much nastier. Perhaps the hotel is not to blame for this, because right next to it there is a public park with an ugly stone pier and rotten water, where these creatures live in a huge colony. But why should I care about the reasons? I just don't want to sleep with earwigs! It's horrible. Nothing worse happened to me in any, even the most run-down lodge in the mountains of Nepal. And here is Japan, a highly civilized and very clean country! Therefore, the only thing I can advise the hotel owners is to demolish it to the ground. In the meantime, while it is there offering rooms, I sincerely advise Booking.com to urgently remove this hotel from the list.

It is on the sea front with a beachside promenade that takes both into town and all the way to Fusuki beach. The buffet breakfast was very good. The large apartment had two well sized bedrooms and a small balcony with a view. It is perfect for a family. There is a kitchen with fridge, kettle and microwave but there were no cutlery, plates nor cooking utensils. One cupboard had no hangers. The balcony is great but empty, a small outdoor table and two chairs would have been nice. There is nowhere to hang to dry a wet swimming costume. The rubbish isn’t collected daily so we had three days of accumulated rubbish. I would stay here again but I would find out better what the cleaning deal is. Maybe there was a lot lost in translation.
