Lochside Hotel

Great location for getting anywhere on the island. Room was right above the bar door so we could smell all the people smoking outside

A lovely little hotel in a traditional building on the main street in Bowmore. The room was small but adequate, the enuite shower room was great (with a hot shower and plenty of pressure!) The restaurant was the highlight, fabulous food with an incredible view and very friendly staff. There was a bit of noise from outside and from the hallway, but this is hard to avoid in older buildings. There is no dedicated parking (but this was not a surprise) and there was plenty free public parking nearby.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. A great experience. The restaurant and bar area was great. Excellent menu. We had dinner and breakfast, both were very good. Superb selection of scotch at the bar. Staff was kind and courteous. A little noisy at night from the bar, but we really didn't mind.

I loved the breakfast and any other food that was made on the property not only that but the beautiful view from there. The other thing that really stands out is the staff… Excellent! The unique rooms are fun and the pub is a perfect place to spend some time at the end of the day Some of the rooms are very tight, but…

The bar and food were great, great view from the room, staff was excellent! Located within walking distance to many great bars, restaurants, sights to see. The bathroom was top notch. expensive

Rooms are a bit cramped, but understanding the hotel is quite old so there’s not much to be done.

Warm welcome with an easy check-in process. My room was spotless and the beds are really comfy, great food and unreal selection of whisky! I’d stay here again if I return to islay. I couldn’t get breakfast due to an early checkout (05:30) but this was accounted for with a large dram the night before! Would 100% stay here again in the future.

The room was comfy but very small.

The location as a base for the island was well placed to explore the rest of the island , the view at breakfast was memorable Staff were very friendly and were above and beyond to assist with everything we asked for Would just say that the kettles are too large to fit in the sink when filling them but a tumbler was provided just a minor niggle against a great hotel l will come back too.

Great accommodation and great food. Also plenty of drink go choose from ?

Lovely location on the side of the Loch, views are fab. Great place to explore Islay.
