Arven Hotel

Location was near key attractions. We were scammed by the owner of $350. One of the two rooms we reserved was not given to us upon arrival. The A/C did not work while in a heat wave. One room had moist sheets and bugs on the bed. Everything was dirty and not kept up. We asked for a refund as it was not as advertised via Bookings.com and What’sApp but has been over a week and owner has not responded. It was so bad that we booked another hotel at around the same price point that was closer to attractions, had A/C, and was very clean, no bugs on the bed, and well kept.

Conveniently located for food and tourist attractions Ahmet is friendly and considerate to all our needs .. he is very very helpful and he tries to accommodate all our needs. He helped book tours, find food, airport transit etc Not at all, every penny worth it

It is very cozy, the location is downtown where there are restaurants, groceries, and shopping area 10 mins walk away. The prices are really good. I like the breakfast, homemade with love! Very simple and traditional. The seaside is very close, where you can walk early morning with coffee or run! The owner is very decent and professional man. He helped me a lot with transportation arrangements!

The location is excellent. The host goes over and beyond to ensure the comfort of his clients. He will recommend places to eat and sites to see. He is also able to get you discounts for some activities. My room had a sea view which was fabulous and soothing. He makes the excellent breakfast and will help with luggage. The hot water works well. The stairwell is home to very nice murals. By the way, the other review left under my name was made by my friends who were traveling with me. The AC in my room did not work, but it was cool enough that the room was comfortable. Host plans on getting some of the units replaced. My bathroom was very small, so you have to be careful with shower. Only way to access terrace is through another guest room. There are no balconies. There are no bottles of water left in the room, but 3 doors from hotel you can get water very inexpensively. I would have appreciated a glass in the room.

Second time staying at the hotel with my fiancee, we really love this hotel and it never disappoints! The location, the staff, the services and the seaview terrace are all great!

The host, the guy from Egypt is the best! He’s the best guy! Love him! The flush stopped working, then the guy fixed it, but later that same day it broke again.

Location is undeniably strategic Ahmet is an awesome host Bed is comfy and well-designed upon checked-in Stairs too steep (but compensated by Ahmet’s personalized service) Shower’s water temperature is erratic; bowl isn’t fixed (but functional)

Value for dollar was 11 out of 10. Ahmet went above and beyond every day to be kind, helpful and informative The room was comfortable for my friend and i to share after our long days exploring Istanbul

Her şey muhteşemdi. I really recommend Arven hotel, friendly staff who was patient and ready to help (even helped me with my Turkish a little, even though I'm just a beginner), great location, gorgeous view from the terrace, parking place was available, clean rooms with air conditioner. Nothing to complain about.

I stayed in 2 different room. The first room lacked curtains to block out street and daylight.

Everting was perfect. Ahmet was extremely nice. The location was great, beautiful view from the room, and we got a delicious breakfast

Ahmed was a wonderful, kind, and thoughtful host. Brought us delicious breakfast every morning, and was so helpful with everything. He even lent us an Istanbulkart so we didn't have to buy one (you can use one Istanbulkart for multiple people). He honestly made our trip to Istanbul 10x better. The location was amazing, about 10 mins walk from all the main sights in Sultanhamet. It allowed us to be at the attractions right as they opened, avoiding crowds that form later in the day. Had good access to the bus and tram Room looks a bit dated, but Ahmed mentioned the whole place will be renovated this winter, so another reason to come back for us!

Great owner, fantastic view and super location.

Ahmet is the nicest person, very friendly, very helpful, very attentive. The hotel is a great value, it’s not fancy, but it’s more than adequate. Very good location to the old town.

This place is a straight up bare bones high value play for an excellent location. Ahmet as others have written is one of the kindest most gracious human beings we have ever met. The world could use a couple of billion just like him. Relatively clean and mostly functional. REALLY needs a remodel as it does not pass the eye test, Bed sagged, cooktop barely functional. too crowded. Referred to the resteraunt next door as you are supposed to receive a 10% discount. Food was good, service was good and view was great. Then..... they tried to pad the bill because we had been drinking and we caught them. Manager was very apologetic removed the charges and bought us 2 more beers. Waiter was there the next day ripping off other potential victims and management team was only sorry they got caught......Caveat emptor

The owner/host is one of the kindest men you will ever meet. He made our stay comfortable and was there to assist us when we needed help. The location is very close to all of the major sites. There is a very good restaurant next door. The tram is also quite close if needed to access other parts of the city. We also enjoyed breakfast each morning.
