Holiday Inn Express and Suites Kalamazoo West by IHG

There was only one trash container in the bathroom. None in the living area... 😕 We had to keep jiggling the handle on the toilet. It would keep running... 😕 One of the elevators was still out of order. We were there three weeks ago and it was out of order then.... The ice machine on the second floor was still out of order as it was three weeks before.... 😕 I used Expedia to book my stay. I was then charged by the hotel for the same stay... 😕 I had to get the manager to straighten/reverse the charges... 😕 The breakfast was sub-par. Had to ask for plates at 7:15 am.... As well for other items to eat... The lady who was the "server" was very unfriendly and slow with putting food out... 😕 I will positively say that the shower force was great. The bed and pillows were comfortable.

There was only one towel upon arrival. When I asked for more they said I’d need to wait until a batch was done in the dryer. I never got additional towels. The workout room was disappointing, free weights started at 20 lbs and up. I went outside for a walk but none of the back or side doors open when I scanned key card, had to walk to main entrance. One of the two elevators was out. Breakfast was just okay, sparse.

Breakfast was good. Lobby and common area were clean Only had 2 bath towels. No bath mat. and only 1 hand towel.

The hotel was okay, but there was lack of amenities such as towels. The last night I was there some man from the floor below me came pounding on my room door claiming I was stomping on the floor, when I wasn’t, the floors and walls are thin that you can hear every step someone makes. The guy threatened me that he was going to hurt me. I went to the desk and told them about the incident and they didn’t do anything about it. Very disappointed in this hotel

However, the breakfast left a lot to be desired. The tables weren't cleaned off as they were vacated and there were several food items that were out in the first hour they were open and they were not replaced.

Conveniently located. Housekeeping staff were excellent. I was charged a daily “amenities fee” that was not in the hotel listing and is not approved by the corporate offices of the hotel chain. When I complained I was told it was this hotel’s policy.

The breakfast was really good. The biscuits and cinnamon rolls were really soft and good. The lady that was running the breakfast Flo did a great job!

Breakfast was excellent.. Water coming from wash basin faucet was yellow color, seems contaminated, not comfortable taking shower

There is NOT an outdoor pool.

Quiet, good location. Very friendly staff and surprisingly good breakfast.

The young lady at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. I didn't catch her name. Breakfast was very good. We arrived shortly after 3:00 but had to wait about 15-20 minutes while the "manager finished inspecting all the rooms." The staff was very apologetic.

We stayed four nights visiting family in the area. If I didn't pre-pay with Hotels.com I would have left and found another place. The hotel looks new and modern but has not been maintained. They charge a $5 per night amenity fee but none of the amenities are working. They had no breakfast two of the four mornings we were there and the other two were extremely sparse. Big fancy coffee makers that aren't working (and no coffee maker in the room). One elevator is out. Several keycard entries not working. Guest laundry facilities not working. In our room the TV was broken, the blinds were broken, the alarm clock was broken (as in it wouldn't stop going off and could not be unplugged). Overheard complaining from staff in the hallways / stairways on several occasions. Witnessed a big argument between management and staff. The hotel appears to be very poorly managed.

Breakfast was chaotic. Coffee ran out and was spilled everywhere. Instead of brewing more the staf tossed out a platter of decaf keureg pods and one small machine. No coffee in room. People were asking for food trays to be refilled. Breakfast staff was not helpful or pleasant. We left and bought elsewhere instead of complaining.

Wrong room for handicapped parents after we were told they were booked into the right room. Breakfast ran out of coffee and food, continuously. We would not stay here again.

So many things were “temporarily out of order” and also had longer waits to check in or ask anything due to limited staff. I was very impressed with the staff they did have but felt bad for them since the hotel didn’t have enough help. Needs more staff

The pool was green and cloudy. Could not swim... The carpet in the room had many stains on it. Toilet seat was loose... The door to our room would not shut on its own. The was extremely difficult to open. We mentioned this and were told they were aware of it... There was a lounging sofa in the room. It was stained. We asked for a king-size sheet to cover it. The breakfast was sub-par to say the least. No milk for cereal. Waffle maker was out of order... No coffee... the containers were empty each morning. They offered a Keurig for those who wanted coffee and had to wait their turn to make it. No tea for those who wanted black or green... We were offer a keurig machine when we arrived at check in. We did take it to our room. The walk in shower was nice. The updated room was pleasant to be in.

The hotel was clean and well maintained. No coffee pot in the room. Breakfast was terrible. Ran out of coffee several times. I only had half a cup of coffee that morning. Also, ran out of sausage, bread for toast, milk for cereal, omelets were very brown. I don’t think anyone saw the pancake machine and I don’t know if there was pancake mix available or not. Was very disappointing.
