Kanazawa Hakuchoro Hotel Sanraku

Very friendly staff, lovely hotel. The onsen was clean and well accommodated. The location was so close to the castle and park with easily walkable restaurants and 7-11/Foodmart.

Definitely, the beds could have been much better. The run-down quality of the mattresses needs to be replaced! Everything else was "very good", but the poor quality of the mattresses leaves a bad taste.Excellent staaff and service. Only the quality of the beds was a dissapointment.

Location was perfect for visiting the Kanazawa attractions - no more than a 15 min walk to everything. Hot springs were amazing way to end each day. Staff was so kind, friendly and helpful. Our Japanese style room had a distinct odor.

The room was comfortable, the shower hot. Breakfast was average, the coffee machine slow and only made a half a cup at a time. The blackout curtains were pretty much useless allowing the sun to come in at five o'clock in the morning past the edges. The staff did not tell us when we checked in that we would need a reservation at the hotel restaurant that evening since many restaurants were closed on Sundays, and the restaurant was closed to me when I came down to have dinner. That was a huge disappointment.

The staff are very nice and helpful. The room is pretty. The bed and pillows were very very uncomfortable. No bathroom amenities other than soap / shampoo / conditioner. No place to open luggage

Location was Perfect

Absolutely beautiful setting tangential to the palace. Ecelle t location and everything else. The breakfast was absolutely worth every penny. The robes required for use of onsen were too small and honestly i was too embarrased to ask for others. Pkease offer in the future:)

The location was fantastic and the staff were super polite and accommodating The room was dated, the pillows super small and uncomfortable, and most critically, the air conditioning was centrally controlled and the hotel chose not to turn it on yet as it wasn’t hot enough in their judgement. So the central a/c was turned to fan only and there was no way to control it from the room. The lobby and elevators were air conditioned but once you stepped into the hallway and the room it was hot and the hotels response was to open the window. This is not what I’d expect from an expensive hotel that is listed as air-conditioned.

The location is great, right beside the entrance to the Castle Park and Kenrokuen Garden and the Higashi Chaya (Geisha) area. Breakfast was decent and having a natural onsen was great. They aren’t well set up for non-Japanese speaking customers which is especially important the first day after arrival. Arranging dinner the first night was a challenge as we weren’t oriented yet. The staff are not nearly as welcoming or helpful as many other hotels.

Great location. The room was clean. Compared to other hotels, it’s spacious. The shuttle service should be every hour. There was a 2 hour gap when I wanted a ride to the station.

This is an older property that is well maintained ( carpeting could be updated), very well located with easy access to key sites, breakfast has both Japanese and western options, staff make great efforts to give good customer service and Google Translate is helpful, beautiful onsen. Would recommend. No concerns.

This is a lovely location with a super kind staff. Lots of interesting art/furnishings. This is primarily a Japanese-speaking hotel next to nice gardens. We never managed to get into the restaurant, but the same food can be found via room service. This hotel is definitely a better option for an authentic experience. Breakfast was great, with lots of choices. Visit was wonderful.

The location and the staff were excellent. A good onsen and great breakfast added to the pleasure. We would stay there again next time for sure.

Very elegant, like an old world hotel. Most of the clientele were Japanese, families on holiday or some perhaps for business; few of us Europeans. Staff was attentive and gracious. The room (jr suite) was exquisite. Stained glass throughout the hotel a theme. Everything was comfortable to luxurious. The hot springs bath was pleasant, not too hot at all. There was a sauna and cold bath as well. Location is right next to Kenrokuen garden. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Kanazawa. Pillows could have been better, but that’s the worst thing I can think of.
