Location was great in an old part of town, walking distance to Kanazawa castle and Kenrokuen gardens. Very friendly owner, large room Nothing

Loved the quiet neighborhood and house and the owner was lovely and very helpful! Room was clean and large and there seemed to be only one other couple staying there. We had access to the kitchen facilities as well. It was a bit far from the train station and bathroom was shared…this was all known and expected!

I loved staying here! The accommodation is a traditional ryokan, so it was a privilege to experience how people in Japan lived in the past. The staff were incredibly welcoming — they greeted us warmly, provided the keys, and showed genuine kindness and appreciation for us staying there. It made the whole experience even more special. Also plenty of space and aircon/heaters in both living room and bedroom. There are steap and narrow stair case to go upstairs to arrive to the bedroom. As long you are very careful going up and down the stairs, then you should be ok. Keep in mind its a shared bathroom however it was clean

Ginmatsu, as a "Minshuku" gives you a sense of staying at a traditional Japanese house in a residential neighborhood, right next to the beautiful historic Higashi-Chaya (Eastern Tea House) district literally less than a minute's walk away. Though Ginmatsu is not a historic old "Machiya" house, it shows you a typical comfortable Japanese house with Tatami mats & Futon on it: the toilet and the bathroom are shared. The toilet is located in a bright space with sinks where you can wash your face, brush your teeth, etc. You can also use a dining room with a refrigerator downstairs where you can sit and relax. The staff were very kind. It seemed like a family business: parents and a son greet the guests. Since this is a Japanese house, the walls are thin. You can hear your neighboring guests open/close their doors or walk on the corridor. You hear their voice but not words. Fortunately I had quiet guests, so when they came back from outside around 9pm, they did not make noise. I just heard their voice, footsteps, open/close their doors. When I had to go to the bathroom, I tiptoed along the corridor leading to it passing by guestrooms on both sides. Otherwise Ginmatsu was a comfortable place to stay.

Comfy and quiet

It is a lovely Japanese traditional house, the room is very clean and comfy. The location is exactly inside the old town which is one of hotest destinations of the city. I wasn´t use to the bed, so, the experience wasn´t all comfortable during the first night.

A good location for an old street with restaurants and a short (15mins) walk to the garden and castle. Nice Japanease style room. Japanese style bathroom. Nkne

The guests were super friendly and helpful. They let us bring our bags before the check-in time and helped us make a phone call in Japanese. The location was excellent and the room very authentic.

The room was really spacious and there was a yukata provided. We didn’t have a private bathroom but a private sink, which was nice. Everything was very clean and both the elderly couple and the other man were very friendly. We could reach many sights per foot, which was great. In the description it says there’s breakfast and the reviews are raving about it, but there is no breakfast.

Great place with Japanese style, larger than expected room. Also very nice hosts. The shared bathroom and bath were fine too.
