River Kwai Hotel

Hotel room quite old and pillow is very soft. Not comfortable to sleep

The rooms are clean. Staff are friendly, allowed us to take breakfast before 6AM since we have to catch the train to Bangkok at 7AM. They are prepared earlier than the allowed time.

Omlet is delicious. Everything is good.

The property is old and very noisy with bar next to it. Dirty, the shower tub is about to break every time you step on it.

the staff very good , breakfast ok rooms need to update , mainly the bathrooms. Pool area needs to update and cleaned

Big pool and nearby to the town.

the room was much smaller than expected,it also faced the extreme afternoon sun,the heat was that hot that the air conditioning could not maintain any coolness,there was a new Split air conditioner in the room as well,but we were told that there was no remote to operate it - therefore not happy with that answer. see above!

A very spacious room, and giant bed. The breakfast included had a large variety Some of the photos were a bit dated. The room had everything mentioned, but was perhaps a bit dated.

Breakfast - normal Thai Western Breakfast option with cereal, toast, eggs some fruit and luke warm coffee. Everything else was catered for the Asian customers. Room - Standard room, very dated and in need of a make-over. No Microwave or Coffee/Tea Kettel available.my 11 year old Swimming Pool - Big, my 11 year old daughter liked it but it was cold and we could not find the switch for the Spa. Gym Facility - Very small and very dated with 4 equipment items. Staff (Manager) she was very rude. I initially booked a room for 4 people (2xAdults & 2xChildren). I also made a point of contacting the Hotel a few days before we arrived to confirm our booking and to make sure we had the right room. I received a reply from the Hotel, and they confirmed everything with me. When we arrived the room only had 2 single beds in the room. When I spoke with the Manager, she wasn’t very helpful and told me I had to pay for a fold-out bed, which I did 1,000.00THB per night (2,000.00THB). It wasn’t until an hour after that I was checking my booking that I found we had been charged for 2 rooms. When I went back to the Manager, she again was relucted to refund our money for the fold-out bed that we did not need. She also said I could take it up with Booking.com regarding the room booing and could not explain why I had been sent a message from the Hotel to confirm we had a room confirmed and booked with 2 x Single Bed’s and a Double Bunk Bed for the kids. She finally refunded the money that I paid for the fold-out bed. I had to go back to reception for a second time as they did not give us our Breakfast Vouchers and was then told I was only charged for 1 night and they had to charge my Credit Card for the additional night.

The staff were nice, and somewhat accommodating; although they were slow doing my laundry and I had to remind them and wait an extra 2 hours to check-out as I didn’t have my clothes. It is grotty and old. The bathroom was rank, with mould on the shower curtain and brown around the sealing. It will take a very brave person to have a bath in the monstrosity that was provided. What’s worse was the Night Club that is literally right outside the hotel. I couldn’t sleep until 3:30am when the music stopped (every night of the week). This might be different if you have a room at the back, but still not worth the risk. The room was simply depressing, and infested with mosquitos. When I say “infested”, I mean infested! I was killing them by the minute, but still woke up with loads of bites (not to mention they’re just as active in the day). They market themselves as having a bar and a (ahem) Night Club, but both of these are mainly used by locals and just a source of noise. So while you are waiting for the music to stop, you can go outside for a cigarette and not have a place to sit down because the Night Club punters are sat there. The swimming pool is just sad. There was the remnants of a bar with no one manning it, and the kind of pool furniture you’d find in an apocalypse exhibit.

Swimming pool, reception staff, clean rooms. Breakfast with few options. We stayed in this hotel before and the breakfast was amazing. Probably because they have few guest the options were few. Only one kind of bread.

The pool and the pillows were the saving grace The place is mostly in I'll repair but the worst of all was the bathtub. There was black mouldy spots everywhere and it looked so gross that I couldn't take a bath? The reason why I chose the hotel was especially the fact that they had a bath available. Except for the 2nd floor the fire escape doors were locked with a sturdy lock...how can people escape?
