City View Hostel

Owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, I wish I liked this place more just to help him out a bit more. Bare basics. One fan in entire room, very hot. No one else there, granted it was low season but there are much much nicer hostels for similar prices or just a little more. Bathrooms were not ideal.

There is one thing I like in this place, it's just the location, which is center of the city and a close to the kandy lake and temple of relics, Too noisy for me as its close by the road where you can hear so many vehicles passing by and in the night the sound of karaoke is just nearby. If you don't plan to sleep, this place is okay to keep your stuff but if you need a full rest after sightseeing, not a place for you. The place has no fan, so it's a struggle.

Location & hotel manager is good but others facilities is not good. Price is high comparing with others room.

The only good part is the location.. its in the middle of the heart of the kandy city. Rooms are just manageable. No RO drinking water. U have to purchase one. Mosquitoes at night. No FAN in the room which was surprising

The host is very kind, available, and helpful. He makes the difference in your stay! The location is in the city center, close to the shops, restaurants, supermarkets, the little mall, the daily market, bus stop, trail station and the temple. You can go easily everywhere without tuk tuk, just having a little walk! It's a basic hostel but you can find clean blankets, a towel, toilette paper and hot water. Low wifi. But ask to the host and he helps you with a better connection :) Not every bed has a plug

The host is extremely kind and helpful. The overall cleanliness could be easily maintained. The walls are damaged from a previous leak and are very dirty; it seems like they haven't been repainted in 100 years. The common area has an old table and a few dirty plastic chairs, making it very uncomfortable. There is no kitchen or fridge, not even a single plate or piece of cutlery.

Disappointing

It’s a very basic hostel just with the basic needs at a very cheap price. The hostel manager named Mano is really a very humble and helpful guy. He helped me a lot to make my trip easier at Kandy.

Superb

Great location right in the city centre, next to main markets etc, host is great and helpful if needed! You get what you pay for if that makes sense! It is priced accordingly

The owner is super nice and the atmosphere is chill. I really loved the location, walking distance to main things and didn't have to use tuktuk. Hostel is very very basic but cheap so you basically get what you pay for. The entrance is creepy.

Lots of noises from the street and building. Big cockroaches, spiders. Owner asked to pay again, no accountability

perfect location at centre of city, all attractions are nearby in walking distance. great host helps you with planning your day there, food, restro suggestions could do better with some facilities : washrooms, locker, room
