Karon Phunaka Resort

Breakfast good Just a touch hilly, I just had total knee replacement but it stood up well.

It was a very pleasent stay with friendly staff and amazing scenery

The lighting is overall poor especially in the bathroom. And there is no reading light for the beds.

The staff can not communicate well they don’t speak English or understand also the room not that clean and the bathroom smell bad

Location is far from beach but shuttle was close after 5pm so we went to watch sunset by foot and it tooks 17min, there Were no other local vehicle to go to beach so it was bothering for us.

Gorgeous property and very clean with staff that are incredibly helpful and nice always

Big rooms

not bad the worst experience moved to 3 different rooms for three times in 3 days because of trouble with the ac lost those 3 days just for complaining about the ac while i was hoping to rest in that hotel too many steps to climb many missing amenities, dirty toilets and dirty towels no electrical points near the bed they only provide one cleaning lady for so many rooms and she doesn’t even wipe the floor and if you don’t ask for her to make the bed she will just leave it as it is and good luck speaking in english they think that they were so kind to give me one free breakfast for all the trouble but i wish i haven’t taken that breakfast and they promised to compensate me for all the trouble but they never did hospitality 0%

Great view over the city and sea from balcony, responsive and helpful staff, good gym, tasty food in restaurant, comfortable big bed. Swimming pool has a beautiful view but a little bit small, so occasionally it was fully packed with people. As area has a lot of stairs - they has trolley to step up from reception to houses, riding it was exciting! First two days we were accommodated on twin-bed room, which was against our expectations, but that room had incredible view as being placed on the highest part of the resort. Other days we were moved to big-bed room and it was excellent!

The location was great not too far n not too close from downtown. The location on the mountain and the sea view was beautiful.

The lift and cable car system to get up to the room started to grate after 2 days. Also pool only open to 7pm was a bit short really

Location isn't terrible, like a 5 minute walk to the markets 10 minutes to beach. Not much around the facility itself. The gym is actually half decent. The swimming pool is quite nice. Given what you pay for this place it's not worth it. Also the drive way is insanely steep. They do offer a shuttle to the beach but it stops at 5pm. Staff are very friendly and helpful though! View from the room was great too. The bed is pretty hard, our aircon was terrible. The room was hot most the time, someone came to look at it but it didn't make a difference. It was loud and leaked. The water pressure is so wild, shifts from nothing to insane every few seconds, including the toilet hose. If you don't like steps don't stay here, even if you use the super slow elevator (which is air conditioned mind you!) it meant going 6 flights of stairs every time. Just a little thing but the TV is super old and small with busted speakers. When you're stuck inside when it's raining it's a shame. I don't understand why the gym closes at 7pm when it legit doesn't have any staff there.

We really liked the view from the room - the sea, the hills and Buddha statue. Infinity pool with same view was magnificent, especially during the sunset. Room was quite big and comfy for a family of four. The location is 15 min walk from the beach, but there is a free shuttle, so not an issue even if you don't want walking. Basically all is good and you get what you have paid for, nothing negative is worth mentioning.

Amazing hotel! There is a lift but otherwise a lot of stairs but the views are absolutely worth it!! The food at the restaurant is amazing and the pool staff make excellent drinks for happy hour and all day :) rooms are spacious and very clean.

They didn't allow me free cancellation which is absurd

The view was beautiful, amazing sunsets from the hotel. Nothing. For anyone reading this review my best recommendation is: with the ample hotel offer in Phuket, don’t book here! Facilities are old and not well maintained: our bed and the mattress were very old, making all sorts of noises and making our nights very uncomfortable, the bathroom looked absolutely worn out and the room had a terrible sewage smell coming from the bathroom all the time, we opened the balcony doors everyday but then had to deal with mosquitoes and bugs at night. On top of this, cleaning was not good either, we could see (a lot of) dust in the bathroom, curtains, etc. Finally, they say there is a shuttle to Karon beach, but it happens only once every hour, and to come back the shuttle was not always available on the beach (not very convenient)… All in all, I don’t think this hotel was worth the cost and our time in Phuket. A couple of friends stayed in another (cheaper) hotel right in front of Karon beach and ended up having a way better experience.

Loved every single person who works here for their authenticity, Toon shows you why Thailand is called the Land of Smiles, he was super helpful with our luggage. Lakme (not sure name spelling) at the restaurant, was very sweet and super nice. This property has personality and will provide a memorable stay.

Great location and views. Free shuttle to the beach that ran every hour which was great. Small sunbathing area around the pool, so could be quite difficult to get a seat.
