Comfortable sleep, mostly quiet area, 10-minute walk to 7-11 and a shopping center featuring restaurants and cafes. Despite a government issued Extreme Heat Warning, the property refused to consider cancellation. Air conditioning in lobby and other public areas was broken. Shared bath is common in Japanese style hotels but Ikoi's is big enough for only two people at a time. No laundry facilities. Television is old-style broadcast/satellite, so no options for Netflix, Youtube, etc. ¥30,000 for two nights.

Location Evening Onsen would be lukewarm

Large room and clean. Peaceful and quiet area. Great value for the money. The bath wasn’t very large. Could get crowded if there are a lot of people in there at the same time. Breakfast was simple.

Located in a quiet neighbourhood in Naka Karuizawa Ikoi villa is ideal for families with kids as the family suite is spacious and there are board games to borrow to entertain the kids with. The tatami room doesn't have a heater so that's something to note if traveling in winter and adverse to cold. A car is a must, to note, the lanes leading into Ikoi are narrow. Tsuruya supermarket is a 5 min drive away, there's also a Sukiya (beef bowl restaurant) and convenience stores within a similar travel time. The bathroom windows were drafty as they are the older paneled style ones. Did not manage to make use of the bath in the main building as well as the water was too hot. Just a note for other travelers.

Friendly front desk and willing to guide local trip. Hot spring is not hot enough but not ruin our stay.

Loved the part of the town it was in. Extremely scenic. Room and mini-onsen was alright but loved the view from my room and the neighbourhood more (especially cos it was peak autumn). Room was fairly comfortable and it's not that I wasn't aware, but I would have preferred if they at least had 1 or 2 private cubicles to shower as it doesn't seem like the property lacks space.

The rooms were amazing, very minimalistic and beautifully arranged. Staff were extremely helpful.

This was a nice way to enjoy some time away from the city busy life. The stay was pleasant, and the room was clean, quiet, and spacious (be aware you have to move the table to use the futons in the Japanese style room). The staff was nice. The place is a bit reclusive, so make sure to have a flash light to navigate the surroundings at night. Also, there are not many restaurants around, you need to walk a bit to find some. Just be aware. A tiny detail that might important to some people: the bath temperature is quite high (around 41-42 degrees I believe). This was too hot for me. Fortunately, the shower temperature is adjustable.

2. V clean and tidy, even the little details 3. A 3 min stroll to 7-11 and another 3 to a group of food/beverage/bakery outlets 4. Free bread and variety of tea etc for bf Nothing!

The photos seemed to show two rooms and hence we booked. But it was only one room made up in two different ways. There's no private bathroom and the common bathroom is closed from 9AM to 2 or 3PM. This was never mentioned on the web. We booked for two nights but only stayed for one night.

The cozy ambience makes the whole stay so relaxing. The size of the room is unbelievable.

The room is spacious The working space is also spacious The hotel looks very famous, all room is booked Clean The room is warm, the light is also good The public bath is clean, but the capacity I think only 3-4 people The microwave is takes so much time to warm the food. Only several restaurant around I think the value of this place around 13-15k yen. We paid 17k, maybe because of the holiday. Almost worth the money

Small, quiet, thoughtful amenities. Welcoming and friendly front desk staff escorted us to our room. Woke to beautiful bird sounds in the hallway through the open windows. Bath was clean and hot, had it to myself and appreciated the privacy! Very relaxing. The beds were also very comfortable!

The room was really traditional and clean The road to the hotel was very narrow and hard to drive
-
Lovely hotel with a very peaceful atmosphere. Very kind and helpful staff. The bathroom was clean with a steaming hot pool of water to soak in after a days walk in the snow. The room was spacious and had a balcony. I would highly recommend this place.

We stayed here with another couple in a 4 person Japanese room. It was incredible. The facilities were so clean, the room was very large and had a great big window. The staff working were very friendly and helpful. We were so impressed with our stay here. The photos do not do it justice. Very great value, highly recommend. Nothing. It was great.
