No Hot water on both occasions I stayed at the hotel

Location is amazing. The hotel is an oasis in busy Thamel. It has everything you need : Himalayan Java Cafe, pizza and pasta, Tea house, restaurant and bar, art museum, gardens. The place is beautiful and peaceful. Love this place! Plus the people that work there are so friendly and nice. I enjoyed my stay so much that it turned into my base hotel while travelling in Nepal. For sure will be coming back in my next visit. Could get a little noisy because there are clubs around so choose a quiet room.

For my stay on 01-03 June; while this isn't about the hotel services, I was unsatisfied with the tour booked through the hotel's partner agency. We originally agreed on a set price and schedule for one specific location. On the tour day, they suddenly added Boudhanath Stupa, claiming there was too much time. If that was the case, they should have offered a shorter, cheaper tour initially. The professional guidance we were promised was poorly planned and lacked detail. Honestly, buying a standard ready-made daily tour would have been much better and more cost-effective.

Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choices. The bathroom sink was ridiculously tiny just a small hand washing sink.

It is a wonderful oasis of tranquility in busy busy Thamel. The staff are very kind . The garden is sublime. The service excellent. It is a MUST stay. Nothing.

Beautiful garden area with restaurant and coffee shop seating, nice clean modern room. Friendly helpful staff, great spa and a yoga studio on site, wonderful location in the heart of Thamel No complaints about it at all

Excellent location! It was tucked away, hidden from the busy city streets. A beautiful oasis in the middle of a busy city. Gorgeous grounds. When the Front Desk would order a taxi, it always cost more than just going out to the street and getting your own

I liked the facilities - restaurant, cafe, spa Rooms are extremely tired and raggedy. Bathroom smells like sewer. Def not worth the price

The location of the property it perfect. The city is on the outside and building protects the people inside from the noise and traffic. The section I was in was old, with bathrooms needing a redesign and renovation however there is also newer sections which are beautiful.

Great staff and facilities. Location couldn't be better. A lot of history in this iconic guest house. Highly recommend!

Great location in Thamel. The garden courtyard seating was such a beautiful place to eat, have a drink or just chill. The onsite massage spa was wonderful. The staff were beyond awesome and despite it being in an old palace, my room was spotlessly clean and modern with all necessities. Beautiful place with a laidback atmosphere. Obviously caters to middle class hikers and trekkers My stay was too short

With a balcony!!! The place is gorgeous! The lighting in the room was bad!

We unfortunately had an experience where the sheets were dirty and the maintenance had to enter our room repeatedly after midnight two nights as the power access was in the room. There was no compensation offered or a follow up email even. This was a bit disappointing and dint seem in line with the rest of the hotel facilities and service. Perhaps it was Christmas season staffing.

KGH's central location in Thamel is certainly advantageous; however, the room we were assigned was disappointingly small for two guests. The proximity of the bed and the single table made for an uncomfortable experience, falling short of our expectations. Although I chose KGH based on a recommendation, the room amenities were inadequate. During our stay, I observed that most of the hotel staff were primarily focused on cleaning the premises, which resulted in minimal attention to the needs of the guests. On a positive note, the breakfast was satisfactory, and we appreciated the pleasant atmosphere of the dining area. The room and its amenities were not satisfactory; the hotel staff could have shown a greater attentiveness to the needs of the guests.

The rooms have been beautifully modernised and are always clean, cosy, and well equipped with everything you need. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff, who are consistently welcoming and helpful. The breakfast team are wonderful, with food that is always fresh, delicious, and offers an impressive variety. I also love the location in Thamel… the grounds feel like a safe, calm oasis right in the heart of the city. The only thing to keep in mind is that some of the rooms are located near the road at the back, which can be quite noisy due to traffic, early morning shop openings, and some nightlife. This is, of course, outside the hotel’s control. When I mentioned this after my first night, the staff were extremely accommodating and moved me to a quieter room without any issues, which was very much appreciated.
