Birds Nest Hostel

The hostel is in a good location. The room is spacious, the bed is comfy and it is clean enough. The guys at the reception are OK. Price is really good. Unfortunately in my room was no AC, so I couldn't heat it, so even in the night was a bit cold. When you pay by credit/debit card they charge you extra the commission for the bank, they do that everywhere in Nepal but it is just unpleasant. A good option would be if the commission is 4% we could divide it by 2, so I pay 2% and you pay 2%, that would be fair...

The staff and location are what sets Birds Nest apart! Fiery friendly and warm front desk manager. Location is prime 2 minutes walk from Thamel (but not in the chaos) while right next to tourist bus stop

Very friendly, helpful staff.

Friendly welcoming staff & boss, quite environment(that's why make their dorm always full!!). Clean toilet that clean up everyday by two staff every morning. 4-5 common area to sit(include rooftop). Wifi is not stable, especially single room at the most behind, it can't be connect at all.

Great location close to Thamel but not in the middle of the craziness. Staff is excellent and sells food and drinks - just pick something out of the fridge and make eye contact with the staff and they bill it directly to your room which is very convenient. The layout of the place is very nice with lots of outdoor common areas with seating. Overall quality of facilities was good, but will differ from Western standards. I would strongly recommend, especially if you're younger or solo travelling as it is very easy to meet and converse with other guests and the staff.

I stayed here for 10 days and after trekking and before my flight home. It's a lovely friendly hostel, hot showers, lots of different areas to sit and enjoy peace and quiet, whilst being convenient for Thamel. Sunny and Nitesh and all the staff were always helpful. I would definitely recommend and if I ever come back to Nepal I would stay here.

The staff is super friendly, helpful with everything from booking taxi to trek etc. Always wishing me good morning and available for any type of information. The food menu is extensive and tasty. The garden provides a comfortable space in the busy city. It is easy to meet other travellers in the common space.I came back three times and felt at home there :) Dorms and bathrooms are pretty basic

I recently stayed at Birds Nest in Nepal, and it was truly a wonderful experience. Birds Nest felt like a serene escape from the chaos of daily life. The room was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make me feel at home.

Good place to stay and relax, close to Thamel. Stayed here for a week and would recommend it for a longer stay.

Really calm and relaxing place but also with good community vibes. The private room was nicer than expected. I stayed at a different hostel initially in KMD (which was ok) and was very happy to have changed to Birds Nest.

Good location, away from the main Thamel. Affordable hostel with a friendly environment and very helpful staff.

Everything. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. Not pushy at all. So nice. And my room THE BEST. I was in a bird’s nest in the BIRD’s NEST. Grounds so pretty and quiet also. Always hot water, everything clean, everyone genuinely smiling. Such a pleasant stay in the city i know and visit very very frequently but always stay away from the center. I had to be in the city this time and had some reservations. Bird’s Nest was such a welcome Nothing really.

Garden and common areas. Good location Not many foreign tourists, it was a bit hard to socialize (but kind of low season too). Only guests were indian basically (loud at night...
