Hotel Rosemary Homes

I think I could have liked many things about the place if the property owner and the staff were well behaved. It is in Thamel area which makes it close to central areas that was a benefit. place was not too dirty or so but the staff were horrible. The owner of the place was arrogant, problematic, rude and very very disrespectful. I had a confirmed booking but when I arrived they said they dont have the booking, I showed them the confirmation on booking.com add on my phone but they refused and said it doesn't matter what i show but that room is not available for us. We booked a 4 bed mix dorm and booked all four even though we were three friends but we booked four beds for better comfort and security, but he started to say that he can put us in a family room with three beds. Then we said as we paid for four beds that what we would like to have, then he offered two separate rooms with one double bed in them and asked us to cancel the booking in booking.com, I asked for a confirmation receipt from them for the new rooms before we cancel the booking, but he refused to give that to us and was not even allowing us to take photos of the form that we fill up with our informaiton. We booked the place literally to sleep because we were in work and tour all day, the next day I got a email form booking.com asking if i am staying in the property since they did not get any notification on my check-in, and i said yes i am staying there but in different room as the property owner changed it, by then we were far away form the hotel like 2 hours drive away and the hotel owner called and said that we have to change our room or we simply should checkout right that moment, we said we are not near and will need few hours to come back but he kept threatening that since we did not do no-show he will not keep us. We rushed back somehow and talked with him, he was asking as us lie to booking.com and do a no-show or we should leave. We had our local friend with us to talk in local language to avoid any misunderstanding, but he insulted our friend and threat him too. We already paid for two days there and did not wanted any hassle so stayed there, but we will never recommend such rude space to anyone.

Had a really nice stay here at Hiday Hostel. The rooms are nice and clean, it is located in the centre and the staff is really kind. It is also not really crowded, which is nice, but if you are looking to meet more fellow travellers, another place might be more suitable. By the way, the rooftop is amazing!

I’m so lucky that I booked this hostel. I booked the 4 bed female dorm and it was super clear, I was also really happy that the shared toilet was in the dorm and we only had to share between us. It’s also a very quiet hostel with a lovely rooftop to work from. I fell sick when I arrived in Nepal and the staff went above and beyond to help me that I didn’t feel alone through one of my worst sickness! I wouldn’t hesitate to book if you’re thinking about it.

This is the second time I have come here, the location is great, the staff are very friendly. The owner of the hostel is a very nice person. I am happy with everything here, the rooms are clean, there is a cafe on the rooftop which is very cozy. If you want to be in a good location with good price and good quality , you are in a good place.
