Avant Garde Lodge offers free parking and free WiFi and is located 10 minutes' drive away from OR Tambo Airport. Airport shuttles can be arranged upon request at a charge. Avant Garde Lodge provides comfortably furnished rooms. Each has its own private entrance, air conditioning and a patio with garden views. The rooms include cable TV and a private bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Guests can enjoy the solar-heated swimming pool surrounded by an entertainment area with a pool table, chess table, dart board and a poolside bar. Beautiful place!

We used the lodge as an overnight stop after 9 hours of driving and a morning flight out of Johannesburg. Therefore, it was convenient that we could have supper at the lodge and that breakfast started at 6 am. The rooms are fine and the lodge has a nice garden. The staff is helpful and efficient. The lodge is situated only 9 K from the airport.

The facilities were very clean and tidy. The breakfast was excellent and the service was top notch. The room did not have any heat and it was 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Burrr.

Only a short drive from the airport and shuttle is provided. Very welcoming staff. Spacious room and comfortable beds. Cooked breakfast is served and dinner can be ordered in advance. There’s a lounge with an honesty bar. Have stayed here several times and can recommend.

Great location, only 10 min drive from the airport. The facility has own shuttle service, and we recommend using it, for the faire pricing, good pick-up process, and the friendly driver. Great communication prior to the arrival. We chose meal-inclusive plan and we were satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. Unlike other places, bar items are priced very reasonable! Overall, good value. Bathroom in the room is not fully enclosed, which necessitated one of us to vacate the room or use the bathroom in the main building. A few updates with room furniture and flooring in the main building could improve the first impression.

Food was great (both breakfast and dinner)...quite place and nice sorroundings...Friendly stuff The room as I arrived looked not fully cleaned. Surely the carpet should be washed. It could be seen that it hasnt been washed for a some time. Other than all was great.

It was perfect for an overnight between airport and shuttle to various locations. The restaurant was particularly pleasant with a great chef! Staff was very helpful and the driver who picked us up and later delivered us to the Hoedspruit shuttle was outstanding! We didn’t have time to enjoy the very attractive outdoor space! It is not walking distance from anything but we didn’t have time to explore anyway!

Super nice people. France the driver was excellent as was Josie and the dining room staff. Good proximity to airport at a reasonable price. Rooms were dimly lit, especially the bathroom.

Very attractive surroundings. Set among trees and seems very peaceful while still not far from airport. The driver sent from the hotel was there at the designated spot and is extremely friendly and helpful. Great food, both the dinner and buffet breakfast. Many choices on the buffet breakfast. Low lighting in bathroom and not enough face towels and wash cloths.

conveniently located near the airport. The rooms are quite spacious. The gardens are lovely. The meals were excellent and a great value. We loved hanging out in the lodge room before dinner. The staff was very helpful with arranging transport. Close to the airport, but not much to do or see nearby. It was not conveniently located for exploring Johannesburg.

Dinners were good. Hotel was good value, comfortable and quiet. There were fires going in the fireplaces as the weather was cold - nice to sit in front of them. Also enjoyed sitting in the garden.

we had a mis communication with our transport to our accommodation which was a bit unsettling but once sorted everything was fine. Our stay was great and the breakfast was fantastic that i had made prior arrangements for supper as we had a late flight but this was not communicated to the chef, but he was brilliant and quickly made us some lovely food which went down well.

All the staff is so polite and friendly We have been here now several times when our way to Kruger and it always feel like coming home Nothing negative to say about our stay , we love it every time

The staff greeted me with open arms. They made sure I was comfortable and took great care of me while staying there.The room was spacious and clean and I slept soundly. They also did my laundry and a morning shuttle to the airport, 15min away. Very convenient!
