Our cottage was so much bigger than we expected and was so comfortable and cosy. We felt right at home. The bed was super comfortable and the electric blankets were a lovely added benefit for the chilly nights. It exceeded our expectations.

the breakfast was not included and had to order - it was overpriced, terrible filter coffee (at the price of proper coffee) There was a half eaten muffin left in the bathroom by the cleaning staff when we arrived the first day! the tile grouting around the toilet were dirty and yellow (maybe pee stains) the shower had loads of mold and the door was loose the bathroom windows had streaks (from hot showers by previous guests) - so had not been cleaned the tile by the basin had not been cleaned before In the kitchen the staff did not wash out the coffee machine - so the water was literally grey sludge - the cleaners just add water the whole time and never clean the water dispenser - I only saw this when I wanted to change the water - so had to use my toothbrush to scrub and clean it the new plants they had purchased were bone dry - so I took them (8 pot plants) outside and in the bath to water them and clean the dust off them The staff did not mop the floors every day by the patio or entrance area there were only 4 complimentary coffee pods for 2 people staying for 4 nights - we were told that if we wanted more we had to buy them - there was no communication material on this at the cottage We were given ONE TINY BAR of soap (size of a matchbox and super slim) for the shower and the bar of soap was never replaced - I had to go and ask for more soap there was no shower cap and when I asked I was told they had run out and were not replacing them

Just a the perfect spot in Knysna. Our favourite place which we have visited often and we're never disappointed. Brilliant views, small but comfortable rooms, great location alongside the lagoon. The Bell restaurant and pub just 40 meters away! Nothing. We loved our stay.

Wonderful place and nice stuff

It was great. Just the shower in our room didn’t really work and neither did the electric blanket. But otherwise everything else was amazing.

Peaceful and lovely grounds/ views

The cottage was large. There were problems with the washing machine, the fridge and the heater but the hotel fixed the heater and did the washing themselves. They will defrost the fridge which was iced-up. The breakfast was well cooked but I didn't always get what I ordered. I think they need a toaster. All in all the staff were great.

Lovely character filled, with gorgeous setting & loved our stay. Staff & breakfast also amazing. Our rooms were all connected, so not so private from our neighbours.

Belvidere Manor is as beautiful as ever, such an ideal location. Gardens are lovely as are the views. Room was fine but on the small side. Good linen and towels. Great TV selection. Room was well positioned in the complex, close to The Bell. Small room with no cupboard space. Bathroom window was very dirty. Privacy roller blind was broken as was a handle on the one drawer. The Bell closed early on the one night. When we went over to have dinner, it was closing up an hour earlier than it should have. Staff friendliness was lacking a couple of mornings at breakfast. One morning there was no tomato available for the mixed grill breakfast, the same the previous evening when we had dinner.
