Sand Sea Beach Resort

The resort is located on the north side of the beach but the beach itself was much nicer as you went south, water was cleaner and sand was softer as you went down. However, the beach where the resort is is much quieter and almost private, so it depends what you value more.

Quiet and private. Close to the city. Lovely staff. Beautiful bungalows on the beach. The sunbeds were a bit old and tired.

This resort is quite old and you can feel it here and there but nothing serious. Rooms are clean and comfy, with good AC. Huge bathroom, spacious shower for two or more people. Rooms are located just by the beach, inside mini-jungle, birds making noise, etc. Great breakfast space with sea view, the food is very good, the staff is super-friendly. Bike rental available on-site, very handy. The beach is just so-so. The sand is very rough (nothing like Polish fine sand Baltic beaches) and swimming is not comfy because of the rocks. Need to walk away to find smooth water entry. The beach is heavily lit during the night, you can't even see the sky, bummer.

Beach, pool and room and dining area

We quite enjoyed this property. We participated in the included breakfast, which was several options in a buffet style breakfast also including perfectly made French omelettes pancakes, Meats, local stirfry type food, fruit, fruit, juice, and coffee. It was very well located as we were able to walk to the walking street as well as walking up the beach and accessing several of the other resorts, restaurants, bars, and able to walk into town easily. Our rim was the beachfront bungalow, which is located right on the beach only a few feet from the water. The staff was excellent. There was only two things that I did not like about this property. The number one problem was that our room had no privacy because traffic to other rooms walked immediately in front of our sliding glass door that opens to the beach, so there is no privacy at all. Of course you can close the curtains, but when you want to have the curtains open and doors open, you will be having people walk immediately in front of your room. The only other thing I would have liked was for the beach to have been cleared of the debris. We were there during shoulder season, so maybe they do during the high season.

This was such a clean, beautifully kept, comfortable place to stay! Great breakfast every day, wonderful massages and the staff were all so kind. Nothing, everything was amazing!

The Royal Pool Villa Beachfront was absolutely awesome. We loved the room so much. It’s spacious, clean, and everything was perfectly functional. Having the pool right on the beach was such a treat for us. Housekeeping and pool cleaning staff were kind and professional. The entire team of staff at the hotel were very kind and welcoming. Called us by our names the whole time and were ready to help with anything. Location is perfect and close to everything you need in Lamai. The property is older but we liked that an found it charming. The staff really tried their best! We felt breakfast was just underwhelming for the price. If we came back, we would skip breakfast and go out as there are so many places close by.

Location friendly staff and good breakfast

The breakfast was great, fresh fruit, juices, omelet station, great coffee, fantastic staff. Some rooms very large. Intimate pool area, good bar, handy loungers usually available The beach unfortunately has much litter with minimal if any cleanup program. Also tar was a problem about 1/2 the time, and people letting their dogs do their doo in the water! Not a problem if you are a pool person, but we are ocean people

Staff was AMAZING and it was a beautiful place to be. So easy to stay by the pool all day instead of adventuring out into Koh Samui! Nothing!

Great location, clean and friendly staff

The staff was unbelievably nice and helpful. They know your name and are always asking to help. The breakfast was very good. Lots of options. We stayed in the renovated rooms which are nice but extremely small. Some of the bathrooms have a sewer smell

Different levels, in the room (between bed and living area), restaurant. Breakfast could be improved in quality and more Thai food. The plug/cables in the room are loose. With a little touch, could make the lights off.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The beach bags were a nice bonus; getting fresh beach towels every night was convenient. It's a bit rundown in the pool area but it's evident they're constantly refurbishing and making improvements.
