The Room was very spacious with a lovely view The flooring in the hallways had ripped carpet in some areas but other than that the hotel was very good

The stuff was very friendly and accommodating even though I couldn’t speak Japanese. The Onsen was clean and very relaxing. The breakfast was traditional and one of the best I had. The location of the hotel was great. The room was spacious and in a traditional Japanese Style.

Very Japanese styled hotel. I love the onsen there, it has both indoor and outdoor onsens. Also, staffs are very friendly, I’m not good at Japanese, so they use a translation machine to communicate with me. And it’s very close to 711 and bus station. Nothing

This is a very traditional ryokan (Japanese inn) featuring both types of the onsen water Arima Onsen is known for. (Kin-no-yu and Gin-no-yu, or Golden Hot Spring and Silver Hot Spring.) The baths are divided by gender, and switch morning and night, so it's possible to enjoy both types of onsen. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The service is everything you'd expect from a higher end traditional ryokan. The room was very large, and had a veranda sitting area in addition to the main room. This is a traditional Japanese-style room so guests sleep on futon on the floor; during the day the futon are put away and the room is converted into a sitting area on the floor. There are chairs available on the veranda, but there are no Western-style beds. The hotel is located just outside the main tourist area of Arima Onsen, but is in easy walking distance of all the main attractions, including restaurants. The town is on a hill, so expect to be doing a lot of walking up and down when exploring the town. If you're looking for an authentic onsen ryokan, this is a good choice. The hotel looks over one of the main streets in Arima Onsen. This is a small town so there isn't a lot of traffic - but the walls are thin, and the traffic noise at night was noticeable.

My first stay in a ryokan. Breakfast and dinner were works of art, with a lot of fish in all forms on the menu. My nakai-san and her assistants were very helpful in spite of the language barrier. I needed their help about how to eat all the wonderful dishes they served. The onsen was perfect. The ryokan switches the men’s and women’s sides so you get to try both. I took two baths every day. The staff let me leave the futon out all day so that I could take naps after exploring Arima and nearby walks and mountains. They also helped out with extra mats for the futon - I found three mats and two duvets to be quite cozy. It was a bit hard for an older Westerner like me to be completely comfortable without any armchairs and tables, but the experience was well worth it. At any rate, I could always stretch out in the baths.
