Breakfast is beautiful and many kind superb coffee.

Rooms were well setup. Breakfast was great for the price. Excellent soup options! Laundry machines worked well. Location was great being close to Kumamoto Castle, shopping/dining, and the tram. Room cleaning process was a little confusing, but that probably could be attributed to the language barrier. Rooms were small (to be expected). Bathroom was small for plus sized people.

Location is great, many eateries within walking distance and shopping street right beside it. The carpark attendant don't seem to know English & we can't understand his Japanese. He got pretty impatient & rude when we couldn't understand his gestures which didn't help at all. I had pre-booked 3 rooms few months ahead of our trip. Somehow we got assigned 3 rooms all on different floors! Totally defeat the purpose of me pre-booking ahead. The front desk even told us they are full house, so unable to entertain any change of rooms.

The Toyoko inn is a simple, clean, basic hotel. Its main advantage is it is in a really great location with huge undercover shopping malls going in every direction and lots of alleyways with great little eating spots everywhere. It’s close to the Sakuramachi bus terminal and the tram lines can take you to the JR train station. The Castle is only a short walk away as well. The other advantage of this hotel is its affordable price with a free breakfast. The staff are kind and helpful too. The breakfast dining room was very crowded and couldn’t seat all the hotel customers.

Continently located near shopping & eateries The rooms I booked were a little too small. Probably got to book a larger one in future.

The hotel was in a convenient location, very close to shopping, a variety of restaurants and Kumamoto Castle. The breakfast wasn’t bad and they offered a blend of western and Japanese food. Not a huge selection but the eggs were real. Morning wasn’t bad either. Beds could be softer. They are extremely firm.

The service was amazing. The location is great right in the center of downtown with a lot of things to see. They even let me borrow an iron. None. Everything was fine for me.
