Shangri-La Kunming

The hotel was conveniently located and breakfast options were great. The rooms were a good size and the facilities (particularly gym and pool) were great. The toilets were quite tight - would have been good if the toilets were slightly bigger.

Check-in took longer than expected when we are only one who checkin, though the staff was lovely. On the downside, the bathroom is very small

Modernistic Zen design - feels like a high end loft concept + featuring a full gym. It’s not next to any attraction but walking distance + easy to hail DiDi car rides. Nothing. Expect if you are used to sleeping in temperature of 16 to 18C - I find this a thing in Chinese hotels (in winter) They regulate the temperature so even if your room’s temostat says “16C”, it will feels like 21C.

What I liked about the property are the staff who are very professional, courteous and are more than willing to help when we needed help. Also what we enjoyed about the property were all the amenities it had to offer. I really can’t think of anything negative about our stay at the hotel.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. We took 3 Jens King rooms for the 4 of us, and everyone was very happy with the hotel. Rooms are very well appointed, clean and well-designed. Everything we needed are there. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. The black-out blinds were perfect for a complete dark room at night, and the sound-proofing very good. We really like the auto hot/cold water dispenser. Every hotel room should have one! My family love the gym. This gym has to be the best equipped hotel gym that we have ever come across. It also has a lovely heated indoor pool. Pity none of us came with our swim wear as we certainly didn't expect to swim in winter. Location also very handy. 5 mins walk to the new Spring 66 Mall, which is a very nice mall. If we are ever back in Kunming, this will be the hotel we stay again and again. No brainer. Wish the hotel have a nice fine dining Chinese (preferably Guangdong style haha) restaurant that many Shangri-la has, but understand that this is a Jens. Plenty of very good food withing walking distance though, so it wasn't an issue at all.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights last week, and love it so much that we return for 1 more night after visiting Dali on our way back to Malaysia. Have already reviewed this hotel previously, and nothing but good things to say Nothing to dislike at all

Facilities such as the gym & pool were fantastic. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Located at near the shopping area as well. Ordered room service (American breakfast) and it took about 30mins to arrive. And when it did, it was missing the sausage/bacon/hashbrown. Had to wait another 30mins for the missing order to arrive and by that time we did not really have appetite to finish the food. The pillows weren't very comfortable either.

Excellent breakfast; best-equipped gym and pool I’ve seen in an urban hotel. Staff were friendly and professional. Went out of their way to provide service recovery when we told them the initial room we checked in to smelt of cigarette smoke whereas we had booked a non-smoking room. Initial room that smelt of cigarette smoke. but this was quickly sorted out by the staff.
