The location was ideal. The metro line 3 Wuyi Road was a mere walk up the street making it easy to use the metro to get around to places of interest. Ling Ling at the Front Desk was very friendly and accommodating. She speaks well in English and is knowledgeable about how to get around Kunming using public transportation. Housekeeping kept my room clean and restocked with bottled water, oranges and lovely sweet tea. The streets surrounding the hotel are pedestrian only zones making it safe to stroll and stop to take photos or watch the locals dance in public spaces. The Moon and Chalice is definitely worth staying at. Nothing.

This hotel is a real landmark: every day, hundreds of local tourists visit and take photos next to it. It is located in the heart of Old Town, so everything is easily accessible by foot. The manager was super nice, provided very useful suggestions, and accommodated all my requests.

The room was awesome. Spacious, plugs, the shower had great pressure. Overall it was awesome. We had no AC in the room but there was a ceiling fan and also they got us another fan for the room. We had comfortable sleeps all 3 nights but watch for this if the weather is hotter or you can’t sleep without AC. The location was unreal - steps away from all the food in the world. The street outside is busy but at 10 goes almost completely quiet. Communicated with the owner by WeChat and she was very responsive. Would stay again. Nothing.

The Moon and Chalice is a friendly small hotel in a perfect location right near the old quarter of Kunming. The manager went out of her way to help us get a China SIM card and to a little tea house where we could drink tea for free! The room, tho small, had everything we needed including mandarins and local special fruit tea.

The room has all the comfort you need, even an heated floor for the winter months. Although the weather in Kunming is always pleasant even in winter. The location is fantastic, you can walk around and experience the old part of Kunming and the modern part just minutes away walking. It's perfect for your first time in China! And the reception speaks English, she helps you in anything you need! Very friendly and efficient! Thank you very much, I will come back to this hotel. Ask for a room at the back side if you are a light sleeper.

It's a beautifully renovated, historic hotel right in the middle of old Kunming --- right where you want to be to explore the city. The rooms have been very nicely refurbished and the hotel staff were so kind with restaurant recommendations and other tips. For example, I loved the longan, date, and wolfberry tea that they prepare for guests in their rooms and so I asked where I could purchase it. Instead the manager even generously helped me to get the right ingredients to take home so I can make it myself!! Really above and beyond. Honestly, nothing! I would stay here again every time I come to Kunming.

The manager, Ling Ling, is extremely helpful, friendly and passionate. She went out of her way to help us organize our outings, helped us book train tickets and suggested activities for us. She made our stay extra special. I love it that the hotel is in a historic building and the location is incredible. It is right in the heart of Nanping Pedestrian Street and Flower market. Lots of activities the moment we stepped the hotel. A-star for cleanliness. The staff will brew a nice herbal tea and a bowl of fruits, which is a very nice touch. Not much that I didn't like. It can get a little noisy but it didn't really bother me. I actually like the energy.

Great location in the old part of the city sorrounded by lots of traditional restaurants and shops. The owner was kind and also very helpful, as all the other staff members. Every day we could find in our room some delicious tea as a gift. Much appreciated!

Great location, close to Kunming old town, shops, metro station. Easy to get to the airport. Staff are very helpful and nice. Room was very nice and clean. Nice decoration. The fridge was very loud.
