I arrived planning to stay for 3 nights, but in the end I stayed for 10! I highly recommend it—the hostel is amazing and attracts wonderful people. :)

I had an amazing stay at Botchan Hostel, this was actually my second time here, and it definitely won’t be the last. Every time I come to Lombok, this place feels like home. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, always making sure you feel comfortable and taken care of. The pancakes every morning are absolutely delicious (seriously, something to look forward to waking up for ?). The beds are super comfortable, and the rooms are cool, clean, and well-maintained, everything you need to properly relax after a long day. What makes this place even more special is the community. I loved running into familiar faces who also keep coming back, and at the same time meeting new people from all over the world. Such a warm, friendly, and easygoing vibe, can’t recommend it enough. ???? Only a small downside, there are a lot of mosquitoes, but that’s just the tropical environment and not something the hostel can really control. Everything else is spot on.

Pros: 1. Beautiful pool and chill common area 2. Located at a central area; just a couple of meters from the main street 3. AC in the rooms 4. Good affordable price 5. Active staff that cleans the rooms and hallways everyday 6. Free breakfast, coffee and a water filler 7. Nice shared kitchen 8. Smooth check-in/out Cons: 1. Would’ve been nice if the common area had bean bags. The way it’s designed makes it harder to socialize and get to know ppl; everybody retreats to their own corner 2. No fans in the common area; sometimes it would get too hot 3. Sometimes the bathrooms lacked soap 4. The curtains in the dorms are see-through and the top bunks don’t have any which was the biggest con for me. Privacy can be an issue Overall it’s a nice hostel for a couple of nights

I don’t like that there is only one bathroom with a shower and toilet together in a dorm of 7 people…. If someone is showering then you can’t go to the toilet either and you need to wolk to the common area to use the toilet there. And the staff didn’t had my friends bed ready until 5 pm while check in is from 2pm or so….

Very social hostel with many people hanging out in the common areas. Comfortable beds and friendly staff Top bunks did not have curtains.

I had to change twice from room as they had power issues. The last room was extremely cold and I got sick with the AC. Wifi was very poor in the rooms and had to go to the common area to be able to connect.

The bed setup is a bit weird and most don’t have curtains, so there’s not much privacy. My roommates were all cool though, so that didn’t bother me. There are only 3 pool beds and they’re all broken, clearly the place isn’t being well maintained. The worst part was the motorbike I rented from them. 60k a day but the speedometer didn’t work, the brakes were bad, and the helmet wouldn’t even close. Because of the faulty brakes, I had an accident when some cows suddenly crossed the road. Luckily, I didn’t get hurt and neither did the cow. When I returned the bike, the staff were rude and dismissive. I just wanted to drop off my stuff at a hostel a few minutes away, they wanted to hold my passport which is fine but the way they responded was just weird. In the end, I left the passport, came back later, and paid 150k for the repair but the one staff attitude really left a bad impression in the end.

Good and comfortable dorm rooms They need a big fan in the main hangout area. That’s where we spent most of our time playing pool and hanging. The area is so hot

Large hostel with lots of guests so quite sociable - a big surfer community. Lots of communal space and a pool. Breakfast included and the hostel organises bike hire, surf lessons, transport and tours of Lombok On the more expensive side for a dorm

location is great! people are chilled and fun’ out of all my hostels indonesia my least favourite one. dirty bathrooms, loud noisy party people, no real chill out area while raining, breakfast is not great, especially with an allergy.
