Location was great! It was in the heart of the tourist commercial center. Rooms were large and comfy - we had 3 adults. Close to attractions - right off the bus line and not far from a subway station. Free tea and coffee available in the lobby. When we were leaving it was raining heavily and we opted to use a taxi that the front desk staff ordered rather than the city bus like we had used when we arrived. She ordered two taxis rather than one - even though the first taxi could have take the 3 of us and our luggage. So, it doubled our cost of going to the train station. Of the 4 hotels that we stayed in in Japan - language difficulty with the staff was more prominent here than at the other 3 and our group spoke English, Spanish, German, Italian, and Polish. If we had known that it was going to cost over 6,000 yen to go to the train station - we would have taken the bus and got a little wet. It ended a great 3 days in Kyoto on a sour note - everything else was great.

Hotel itself is beautiful and the views were stunning. The open air onsen was one of our favorite things to do. It wasn’t very crowded. The dinner buffet was delicious and convenient after being out and exploring all day. We didn’t really get walk ability. You could easily take a taxi. It’s more convenient than taking the train to the surrounding districts. Just walking into any nearby restaurants especially for lunch isn’t that possible from there. I can’t say much for the night because we ate inside the hotel each night.

Excellent location, clean rooms, free coffee and tea in the lobby, helpful staff. The shower head placement is very strange. It basically covers both the shower area and bathtub which are side to side. This was very hard to navigate and angle to have a proper shower.

Location Room at end of building on a street overlooking residential patio with trash. Tried to be moved…unsuccessful. Hotel is generic and without character with no real amenities for guests, except a breakfast room.
