Breakfast: Amazing, extraordinary buffet repast, with plentiful ingredients from the east and west. Location: A little removed from the action, but that is actually a plus for the resulting peace and quiet which is worth it. Room: a bit cramped but this is Japan so what do you expect? Besides, the size well represented the great price: Small! Travelers are a picky bunch, especially from the USA, 35,000 feet in the air and complaining that they're not comfortable like the way they feel in their living rooms at home. How about two words: Nothing, really.

Breakfast was amazing. Hotel had a funky welcoming vibe. Quiet and clean and fairly accessible to subway. The hotel was under renovation which was off-putting initially,
-
Breakfast was good Although the room was small they made excellent use of the space Good walk to the nearest train station
-
Location is good but not the best
-
The room is good, the building is pretty cool! They have everything u need and the room isn’t small, it’s comfortable!! Kinda far from the station, walking with luggages wasn’t very cool… the bathroom is kinda small as well but it wasn’t really a problem for me.

This property is beautiful, my room was stunning and exceptional in all ways. The staff were very helpful and kind. It's around a 10 minute walk to the nearest station as well my only other complaint was the property was under construction though I didn't have any noise complaints. As well my room wasn't accessible for someone who can't go up steps which wasn't in the description.

The entire experience was awesome! They reply quickly to your messages before you arrive to your destination, staff is very kind and helpful with questions you have and they do luggage forwarding from hotel to hotel which was very handy in my case (considering I needed to go to Tokyo). The bed was comfortable with lovely little couch and it was overall pretty quiet on the floor I was staying at. When going to the bathroom, it's a but higher up, so watch your step for sure! The location is in a pretty quiet place away from the center and from the crowds, while still near the station. I personally like it not being too busy and crowded, so I was happy with the location it was at! I would definitely stay there again when visiting Kyoto

This one was nice too very Bathroom smelled weird and wasn’t very nice and there was construction out front but it was ok
-
The bed was a a little too stiff. But a very minor subjective opinion. I would stay at this hotel again.
-
I didn't like the light of my room.

Great location being five minutes walk to Kujo station and then ten minutes walk to Kyoto station.Lawsons 2 minutes away and a great cafe next to Kujo station as well as a 7/11 store.Staff are warm, friendly and helpful.I stayed here once before last year and appreciate so many things about this hotel. The hotel has a wonderful industrial arty interior, quite different from the usual. Rooms are a good size and the daily housekeeping is a plus. The breakfasts are superb, and nice to be able to sit at the bar and have a wine at the end of the day.I also loved being able to ride the bikes they have.Wonderful hotel! Only the hard pillows but that's common in Japan I think.

The added breakfast "buffet" was a nice add-on and definitely eased the burden of trying to find something early in the morning. A nice espresso machine with to-go cups, a slew of fruit juices, smoothies, and eggs to your hearts content. While I missed on not booking one of the more artistically styled rooms, our standard double room was suffice and was a cozy corner to tuck into. The bath is huge and deep which my partner mentioned loving. Aside from that, there wasn't much wow in the standard rooms. Unfortunately for the pretty sizeable cost bump for staying in Kyoto after April 2026 taxes hit, we managed to land on dates that had both construction to the building next door, and construction in the main lobby for what seemed to be an art installation swap? There was no notice via email or message that construction would be happening during our stay and no discount was offered or some sort of service to make up for missing out on a key part of the hotel's charm. On top of all of that, Mondays and Tuesdays, the lively nightlife/bar is closed in the hotel, which was an even bigger bummer.

The room was spacious and clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. Plus the breakfast was very good. Especially liked their soups and homemade granola. Handy location to Kyoto station. Everything we wanted to do was always a half hour away. Although it was easy to use the local buses and subway.

None.

We were a little worried as rooms in Japan are normally small but we had a twin room with lots of space - sitting area to write at a table and a lovely sized bathroom. Breakfast was definitely sufficient. The location seemed a little remote but actually was ideal for getting to all areas… just need to walk 8 mins. OVerall an excellent experience and we were a little sad to leave.

The room was well maintained, The hotel atmosphere was beautiful and staff were very helpful. The included breakfast was very good
-
I was given a very poor toom
-
I am not a great fan of "contemporary art" in the lobby (the patio garden with white gravel is so much nicer than what hangs in the windows).

The front reception staff was amazing! Friendly, kind, and helpful. The bathroom was spacious and plenty of hot water. We used their laundry facilities and it was easy and accessible. I also loved the bath salts available. Our room had a dank smell every time we walked in. It had a concrete floor instead of any carpet. The wooden tub we paid extra for, was not any better than a regular one. The pillows were hard. The breakfast had a lot of variety but eggs were so under cooked. We asked them to cook something for us and one person said yes, but the next morning they said no, so we just took our food to the microwave in the hallway and used that.

Comfortable and clean rooms.
