The breakfast was so poor and the room soooooooo small, and the prices we paid for was way too more expensive than other hotels we were for for the same amount of days and betters breakfast, facilities and better room and price.
-
Everything was clean and the room was nice
-

-
Room very small
-
Loved the pajamas, free breakfast, location, and nice staff.
-
Great great location. Very convenient and easy access to the train station, bus station, convenient store and many restaurants. It’s the dream location for Kyoto travel. If you need a kettle please ask from the reception. Might be a bit of a shock if you’re not used to the Japanese style room where there are no chairs which means you have to sit on the floor at all times. There’s also no cupboard so be ready prior.

Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable, good location close to public transportation and 7 11.
-
Easy check in and good location. Bad smell in the whole hotel, breakfast is not very diverse, no laundry machines, no luggage forwarding service. Cleaning is also not included in the price..
-
The breakfast was simple but great! Always refilking the drinks and bread. It is Japanese bread, so large think slices.
-
Comfortable hotel room and delicious breakfast—toast with jam, coffee, and juice!
-
Wifi signal and speed was weak. Breakfast was barely acceptable, It may have been better to not have breakfast.
-
Perfectly nice inexpensive hotel. Non-descriptive area but Easy Access to the bus that takes you to the temples and other must see areas in Kyoto. Nice touch to find a clean night shirt in the room! Breakfast.. terrible
-
Good bathroom Power cuts when the hotel card is taken out of the room, not so good if you have medicine that needs to be kept cold
-
The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. As we stayed during winter, there was no central heating, just with the AC. The room was small.
-
It had very much all that you need for a pleasant stay there. The Excellence part in the name is not that applicable, but the bed was pretty solid, toilet was even better. VERY easy to get from and to Kyoto station. Definitely a pleasant experience during the five days that I spent there Wi-Fi was very spotty at times. Expect to pay the tourist tax when checking in
-
Breakfast offer and facility very basic.

Hotel Excellence is, as the name says, an excellent hotel, in that the rooms are clean and modern and comfortable, as are the facilities in general. The rooms are a bit on the snug side, which is pretty typical in Japan unless you spring for a luxury hotel. The location in Enmachi is convenient to the JR line, but far from the subway line, which can mean a long hike for the most convenient route to points east if you don't want to pay to connect from JR to the private lines at Kyoto's central stations. And while there are some convenience stores, um, conveniently close by, the area lacks much in the way of F&B or residential charm. It is, on the contrary, largely characterless, which makes the hotel pretty much just a place to pass out after a long day of sightseeing and not much else. The hotel breakfast options won't give you much reason to stick around, either. You have a choice of toast, or toast. There's also toast.

Had a bad sewer smell in the hallway and room if you don’t leave the room vent and or window open that also let the road noise in.
