Beautiful property, excellent breakfast. Just a few blocks from the Arashiyama bamboo forest. We stayed during an unprecedented heat wave in Kyoto. The room decently cooled but the HVAC did have trouble managing humidity. The dining area struggled to maintain a cool temperature.

One of the most beautiful hotels I stayed at, felt very serene and well thought about. The breakfast was just amazing, very detailed menu with great options and an amazing view of the river. Arabica Coffee was right next to us, along with multiple temples and bamboo groves. It’s not close to Kyoto downtown but that could be a plus if you want a more quiet stay and don’t mind the drive.

It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. The modern architecture, the friendly staffs and the first class food are exceptional, not mention the perfect location. In the morning, you can have your breakfast facing the beautiful Kamo river and Togetsukyo Bridge. The room is spacious, modern designed. What surprised us most was that there is a garden with small cascade just outside your balcony. That is magnificent! It left us the best memories in Kyoto. Nothing!

Our room was gorgeous with a large sliding door opening to a modern Japanese inspired rock garden, and fountain, which was a pleasant sound outside our room. It had a large couch and coffee table and two queen side beds side to side. Photos don’t do it justice.The hotel had every amenity you could think of. The staff was very helpful and the location was great with a nearby train that takes you straight to Kyoto Station, but Arashiyama itself has so much to see and do. Breakfast was included, and it was superb, and we also enjoyed the hotel restaurant. Hotel Muni should be rated a five star hotel.

Big room, absolutely amazing view from the room. Amenities were great. They have a gym that’s updated with the latest equipment. Staff were so lovely. Best stay in Kyoto. -

Muni Kyoto has been the best hotel we’ve stayed at in all of Japan yet. White glove service, beautiful room, amenities are pristine. Location is great if you want to be in Arashiyama and it’s far from the main station to get back into downtown Kyoto. Dinner and breakfast services were excellent.

Absolutely stunning views from the river room we booked. Breakfast was phenomenal and eating while overlooking the river was a world class experience. The room was exceedingly spacious and the restroom/bath area were very comfortable. It was a bit pricey for the amenities offered relative to some others at this price point. The staff, location, and views do compensate for this though!

The hotel offers an amazing location paired with truly exceptional hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome, special thanks to Mr. Leo for his kindness and attentive care throughout our stay. The welcoming drink was a beautiful touch and set the tone for a memorable experience. A perfect blend of serenity, elegance, and heartfelt service. Nothing!

The restaurant was great but limited options. Took the light dinner menu on the first day and it doesnt feel worth for the money. However the breakfast is good
