Quiet The room is Too bright in early morning. Need blackout curtains if you want to sleep in.

This bed was the most comfortable bed I slept on during my trip to Japan and Korea. That comforter was like a cloud. The breakfast was amazing and it was in a very nice area, perfect for people who want to see Arashiyama. I wish I stayed longer, my stay here was too short.
-
Amazing location near all Arashiyama attractions and pkenty of nature, quite street, great staff. The food was totally amazing, the breakfast is an attraction of itself The room is a bit small, but regular on japanese standards

Overall is good except for housekeeping. There is room for improvement with the housekeeping service. We expect the daily service to include changing the towels, emptying the trash, cleaning the floors, and making the beds. However, on two out of the five days, the staff only changed the towels and emptied the trash. We are a bit disappointed by this inconsistent service.

The location was perfect for different places in the Arashiyama Area—everything was walking distance. Plus, the breakfast was EXCEPTIONAL. N/A.

Beautiful minimalist design and thoughtful, polite staff. Lovely quality bed linen. Breakfast was an incredible experience of Japanese hospitality, food and design.

I loved the meal concept and the restaurant design. Food was delightful and the staff kind and helpful. Apparently, because we took a meal plan, check-in was at 5 PM. Since I was traveling with my 85-year-old mom in the rain, it was difficult for her.

Breakfast was amazing.

The clean rooms and lovely style. The staff were friendly and so helpful. We had a small bit of confusion on when the lounge was available. The sign in the lift didn’t make it clear in English that it’s not available from 11am onwards. It’s such a lovely lounge it would be nice to be able to stay in there.

A great place to stay - very clean, friendly staff and very good breakfast! The configuration of the room- it feels a bit awkward and lack coziness!
-
Comfortable bed Stay for breakfast,” they say — unless you actually wish to enjoy breakfast. Even most Japanese friends found it nearly inedible. Rooms are tiny, airless, viewless boxes with nowhere to place a suitcase and no TV — in Japan, of all places. Staff send endless, repetitive messages, and somehow still forget to issue a proper receipt. Overpriced, joyless, and utterly forgettable — avoid unless you’ve completely lost your mind.

The food was excellent and very original The bed, they put the mattress on the floor not on the bed so it was very hard to get to the bed

Clean, great meals, great location
-
Very good food and location. The rooms are Japanese-sized. For an American, you may expect more space.

This facility is only about 3 years old, and it was very modern, clean and comfortable. It was in a very quiet part of town close to the river and a great public bath just down the street. Breakfast was very high quality and a unique dining experience. Note to travelers that most restaurants close in the area after 5 or 6 so dinner options are limited.

The breakfast was excellent and gave a true and authentic experience of Japanese culture and cuisine. We also enjoyed the communal area to get tea and coffee! We loved how quiet and peaceful the hotel was. We didn't really know how to work the air conditioner lol! But other than that everything was great!
-
The hotel is a bit further from the main Saga-Arashiyama area than I anticipated, so the location can be a bit inconvenient with the more sparse public transportation.

This property was perfect for us. Great staff, great location, and super clean. The traditional Japanese breakfast was totally new experience for us. We loved it. Kids might not like it. So, be aware.
