KYOTO Guest House

The place was close to a few convenience stores/ restaurants /grocery stores We stayed at this property for seven days, arriving just before the weekend. At first, the hotel was fully occupied, but by the end of the weekend all of the other guests had left, and we were the only guests remaining for several days. Unfortunately, once the other guests checked out, housekeeping appeared to stop altogether. For multiple days, common areas were not cleaned, and garbage left behind by previous guests remained on the property. The toilets were dirty, and there was hair throughout the bathrooms and other areas that had clearly not been cleaned properly. Another significant issue was that the lock on our room door did not function properly. Because we could not rely on the room being secure, we felt compelled to carry our valuables with us whenever we left the property. We raised these concerns with Booking.com, and the situation was eventually addressed. However, the host was difficult to deal with and was not particularly accommodating or responsive to reasonable concerns. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, security issues, and poor customer service made for a disappointing stay.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! BLACK MOLD IN THE CEILING, WATER POURING FROM CEILING INTO BED. Absolutely wretched!!!

I booked this place 3 months before the visit. The room was ok, but there was black hair on the towel and sheet when i lifted the blanket. Also, there was dust and hair on the floor. Not sure if they cleaned it after the previous tenant. I stayed there until the last day, and then I was asked to move to another room because they expected new guests and needed my double room. Why are other guests more important than me?

Location-wise, the guesthouse proved to be strategically situated, offering proximity to both train and bus stations. This accessibility made exploring Kyoto's myriad attractions a breeze, allowing you to seamlessly navigate the city's enchanting streets and historic sites. The presence of a nearby Family Mart further added to the convenience, ensuring that essentials were always within reach. Beyond the practicalities, Kyoto Guesthouse also impressed with its attention to detail. From complimentary bathroom toiletries to a high-quality hairdryer, every amenity was thoughtfully provided, elevating the overall comfort of your stay. The commitment to cleanliness further underscored the guesthouse's dedication to providing a top-tier experience.

Check in was easy and the staff were friendly. Beds were sizeable and comfortable, and shower facilities were good. The room was directly above a karaoke place, so it was quite loud late at night when trying to go to sleep.

Owner was lovely, the room was clean and comfortable, the shower was great and the location was pretty good for the price ☺️

unfortunately no good point the Google location is confusing. the room is not actually a room. looks like a detention facility in movies. the shower room is crazy. worst of all, the room had no good lock. the security was zero. the cleanliness was bad. the Karaoke shop underneath the room was absolutely noisy and you cannot even take a rest. Booking.com should not put these low quality places on the list.
