extremely good location, right where you want to be! the rooms were beautiful, albeit a little run down. Very good price though! The wifi was turned off from 1am until 3pm, not sure why but very frustrating, the service also stopped working several times. The single shower was incredibly dirty, on a level i have not seen before. The shower was also locked between 9.50am änd 3pm. The corridors where very cluttered with boxes.

Booked a room for two guest, had to pay for the second guest again and charged twice

Nothing - I never got to stay there - he left me standing in the street.I had to find alternative accommodation at 8.15 pm! Everything- this is a complete fraud. It’s definitely not a Ryokan - it’s a small one-up/one down tiny house in a narrow alley. When I eventually got him on the phone after 5 attempts,, standing outside, he told me the booking had been cancelled by Booking.com and THEN claimed (and received!) full price on my credit card as a “no-show”. Booking’s Customer Service won’t help me - they facilitate this! Beware - and don’t get involved. It’s been an appalling experience that I would never have believed possible.

The bathroom was a mess there was pubic hair everywhere and when I went to have a shower it started to flood because there was so much build up in the drain I had to unclog it myself. I also booked for two beds and was told not to touch one of them when I paid good money to be there.

Especially the bathroom It still had hair around the toilet and it looked like from multiple people

Passable

the room itself is what i needed. I wanted a cheap private room. It had real windows, new solid wood door. i like tatami and futons. The room was not clean. its dusty. There were black hairs on my sheets, do they get washed!?. The shower room was mouldy, and it really wouldnt even be hard to clean! it just needs a basic effort. The shared sink and toilets seemed new and clean enough. It would be simple to tidy up all the boxes in the halls as well, it would make a difference.

The property is clean and located relatively central to the Nishiki Market and Kyoto St. There is no hot water and no heating between 10 AM and 3 PM. There is no internet between 1 AM(!) and 3 PM. This information is not provided anywhere. When I left the army, I thought I had had my life's last shower in cold water in an unheated room in winter. There are much better options in Kyoto at the same price.

My room didn't look at all like the photos small terrible hospital bed and room. The staff was very nice though

The stuff was not helpful. They hardly agreed to let leave a small piece of luggage before check-in time.

Localisation is great. Rooms are also nice. Bathroom was not clean enough.

Location, the experience of staying in a ryokan is ok Halls were full of boxes, is difficult to walk through it. Place is not very clean. Is dark. Staff is almost never in the reception. Cero English, so is difficult to ask questions.
-
It’s location. It was hard to check in, there was a random 200 yen tax I didn’t know about that I had to pay and then shower room was not clean. Also there was a fair amount of hair everywhere, the place needs a serious once over with a mop.

Even though the ryokan was just next to the big streets, the area was really calm and there was no noise from the outside, so it's a good place to go when you don't want to be far from shopping areas and museums while still getting to sleep peacefully. Futons were comfortable to sleep on and the owners are really nice :D

The property is a great stay if you are looking for a traditional Japanese ryokan. Room was cleaned every few days and it is in an amazing location. There is a lack of lights at this property? Often I found it difficult when coming in during the evening; although there are sensor lights, there aren’t enough of them and it’s very dark when using the bathroom facilities. Also one shower for the entire hotel is quite difficult
