Casa al Mar

The location was great, the food at the restaurant was pretty good, and the interiors of the room and lobby were nice. From start to finish, the stay was so far below our expectations, it was appalling. The staff was not very competent (restaurant staff was slow and aloof), when one of our friends wasn’t able to come, they were not flexible on the price even though we hadn’t paid yet, our bathroom had been used when we first checked in, the plumbing was having issues and they claimed they told us the water was going to be shut off early in the morning but they did not, there was a dead cockroach in the kitchen cabinet, they tried to overcharge us for the items we used in the snack bar, and they were not very professional when we were bringing these items to their attention. Additionally, the cleaning staff was not careful with our room, leaving it unlocked in one instance and leaving the door wide open with no one around in another instance. They even stole our friends $500 cash she had in her luggage, and we noticed other reviews saying their cash was stolen too. That is absolutely unacceptable and this hotel must be held accountable.

The friendly and helpful staff, AC was super cold, room was clean, great location. No pool, no door or shower curtain for the shower. Three levels in the room, so lots of walking up and down stairs.

Not about the hotel, everything was excellent, however, very noisy and busy street in the middle of the night!!!

The street is noise at night. But yet, it is the location!

Convenient location on the Malecón, walking distance to restaurants and sites in the center, all the staff members very kind and provided us with exceptional service.

The food and service was exceptional, healthy, delicious and varied. Our rental car was not available at the airport, and the staff at Casa al Mar was able to secure a rental car for us at a great price, and truly saved our vacation.

Location was great! Staff were amazing and were able to book any tour we had in mind with very good prices!! Super helpful and the restaurant was very good. There are many breakfast options.

If you want to be in the action get the rooms in the inner courtyard, the rooms overlooking the ocean are on the noisy malecon with constant cars going, which is fine if you like that. It's a great location great rooms great staff

Location was right on the main strip, walkable. We ordered room service which was quick and the food was good.

The facilities were beautiful and the staff was excellent. Loved the location. The parking situation was not ideal. It is $10.00 usd a day to park and about 3 blocks away. They lock the garage from 8:30-8 so getting your car can be tricky for an early morning excursion.
