The hostel was close to everything! The beach, food, bars, shops. The room was perfect, had a shower and toilet and nice balcony! The staff and other people staying there were great

Location in the city center, the staf is very kind. Everything is very clean. Nothing to do with the hostel itself, but rather with the people we shared the room with. I share the room same days with three friends who would come back at 3 a.m. laughing very loudly, slamming the door, and leaving their clothes and backpacks all over the room, a complete mess. Sometimes they would go out and leave the door wide open. They also ran around shouting in the stairs after midnight. The fan was left on all night even though the temperature was fine, and I ended up getting sick during my vacation. Absolutely no respect for the other guests or for the hostel rules.

Staff = Amazing. Excursion organization/events/dinners = Amazing. Location = Amazing. Room size + Bathroom = Amazing. Even equipped with a fan for the hot days. Did I mention our view? Also amazing! The rooftop is such a highlight and the atmosphere is just so fun. LOVED it here! I have nothing bad to say.

Great location
-
location, price and ammenities it is very loud. the guests do not observe any quiet hours and could hear loud talking, laughing and carrying on until 4am the first night (sat) and 2 am (sun). Not sure anything can fix that. maybe enforce some sort of quiet hours from midnight to 6am

Exceptional

There was a bathroom in the room, everything was clean and the rooftop is nice. Easy to get around places from the hostel. The vibe of the hostel is not too social though. The bed was not that comfortable, it got very hot in the night and there was only a fan.

Loved the social part of Sol a Sol, daily activities, delicious & cheap dinner, and the rooftop atmosphere made it so easy to make friends as a solo traveller. I extended my stay by 2 nights and ended up staying 6 nights because I was enjoying it so much, the staff even were able to make some shifts so I could stay in my same room and were super lovely throughout my whole stay and helped book activities easily. Location is central and close to everything you need. Would come back next summer! It is an older hostel but has a really homely feeling.

Not so clean
-
Extremly noisy!! Even from guests inside the hostel. Couldnt sleep well at all
-
It's centric Not go there, you pay almost 60€ to go in a dorm with no air conditioning, lots of light, noise because there is no doors to close the window and the beds are quite old. The staff is really rude and they do not allow you to stay in the common areas after your check out. So you have to go with all your staff the the street for your last day.
-
Central Location/ Staff was very friendly / Rooms were kept clean by the cleaning staff every day. There is not an AC but a fan in the rooms so it gets really hot. Furniture and overall interior is a bit old and rough.

Very good

Great location, nice rooftop area with lovely sea breezes, and lots of activities easily arranged through or offered by the hostel. Noisy at night, but that’s what you get with being right in town! Free earplugs provided at reception was appreciated.

Superb

Rooftop area was great and the people, including staff, were fantastic. It was not the cleanest property and the kitchen area in general was not very well kept.
-
The four bed dorm was a good size with en suite bathroom. Good kitchen facilities and a great roof terrace with views over Lagos to the sea. Only a few minutes walk to shops and restaurants, marina and beach. Not a lot to dislike here but the shower in the ensuite had poor drainage.
-
The terrace is beautiful, great views of the town and a good place to chill at any time in the day. The location is good, right in the middle of the old town. This does mean it gets very noisey at night though. Staff are friendly. The beds are very uncomfortable but have curtains which is nice. The common areas were empty for most of the day so not too great for meeting people that way. I liked that the hostel ran activities daily but I think there should be more free activities to encourage people on a budget to participate.

Great rooftop and lots of Nice activities to meet people. Clean rooms and friendly enough staff. Kitchen very small and awkward (sink in a small corner separated from the cooktop, the layout make it difficult for people to cook at the same time) But that's the only complaint I have. This hostel is very good value for money
