The front desk person was awesome! So wonderful and helpful. Continental breakfast in the small lobby was a nice touch. But our room had no water pressure, couldn’t rinse the soap from your hands. Missing several towels, and really needed to be updated, bed was so squishy, outlet in the bathroom didn’t work, and all the corners in the room were in need of cleaning/washing/repairing. You can tell this use to be a motel. Maybe they missed fixing up our room by the pool. 2-3 mile walk to festival and beach was close. 3 stars-knowing it’s summer in Laguna Beach, it was an okay place to stay-really not inexpensive but acceptable .

When we initially checked in we got our first room. Let me just say, disgusting. There was rotting wood in the bathroom, the bed sheets were dirty, the door didn’t close all the way, the shower floor was nasty and full of I don’t even know what. We went back to ask for another room and the staff seemed annoyed. Like sorry? I’m not staying in a dirty room. We get another room and just settled for it. Bed sheets were still gross. Beard trimmings in the sink. The cleanliness of this place was nasty. But as a young couple with no extra money to spare we just stuck with it. If you want a cheaper stay in Laguna beach this is the place to go to. But this is not a place to stay if you want something relatively nice.

Staff was very friendly and helpful but no one was at the counter most of the time Cockroaches in the room

Some of the rooms have very bright lights and fans that automatically come on in the bathrooms. HORRIBLE in the middle of the night. ACs need to be checked

It was convenient to have two king beds in the room. The location was overall good but how close it was to the ocean and trolley was exaggerated. The whole place was run down. We had two sinks and both had awful water pressure. Neither could be used for shaving, and one could not even be used for brushing teeth. No one was ever at the front desk. The breakfast was not much. Coffee was usually out. The staff texted to ask how things were and never replied to texts or followed up in a reasonable time. Room cleaning was variable and we had to ask repeatedly to get the room cleaned. The things to check out were fine if you could find the staff and get them to come to the front desk, but instead of securing them to your room they made you leave your ID behind just to take the beach towels which I’ve never experienced before. The shower had a dual shower head but one side didn’t work and there was no door on the shower so water sprayed all over the bathroom. The hotel was called an “art hotel” and there wasn’t any special artwork or anything of visual interest in the rooms and the railings had fake plastic plants around them. The trash in the parking area was overflowing and covered with flies. If I had known from the description how shabby it was I wouldn’t have booked it for the price. The pool was way smaller than it looked in photos. We were pretty disappointed with the place which was quite expensive.

This hotel is very well maintained and walking distance to the beach. Rooms are very quiet. Young lady at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful when I arrived.

Breakfast air conditioning SO loud , broken hand held washer, no counter space in bathroom, nasty pillows , pool green nasty, closed for swimming , tv very complicated (at first), beach crazy walk down and up!

The continental breakfast was decent, plus afternoon popsicles ! The location is wonderful - a short walk down to Crescent Cove and Shaw's Cove, near the northern end of the free Laguna Beach Shuttle, and only a 30-min walk to the town center. The cleaning staff needs improvement. Our hair conditioner bottle was empty. The room was clean when we checked in, but room attendant jumped the gun and started cleaning our room before we checked out. We had a couple of roaches scurry across our room floor. It's an old building with some issues, but we like its funky, coastal vibe. This is our second time staying here and will be happy to return.

Clean and had all amenities needed. Bed was firm, slept good. Very close to beach and restaurants. Pleasant and helpful staff. Free parking and breakfast.

During our stay, we had to take cold showers for the first four days because the hotel was experiencing problems with the hot water system. We were informed that the issue would be fixed, and fortunately we had hot water only during the last three days before our departure. At the time, the hotel assured us that we would receive compensation in the form of a discount on our stay due to this inconvenience. However, to this day, we have not received any refund or discount.

Cleanliness, comfortable beds, and wonderful customer service

They put us in room 101 which is literally on PCH. It’s too close to a main highway. Traffic noise is very loud. This room should not be used as a hotel room. 101, 102 and 103 should not be hotel rooms. There are plenty on other rooms within the property.

This place was clean, close to the beach, and had decent amenities.
