Loved everything from the staff to the room to the breakfast. This hotel is really charming and right on the edge of the old Plantagenate City. Excellent value. My family visited several cities/hotels during our trip to Loire, Bretagne and Normandie, and all four of us liked this hotel best.

The room and location were fantastic. Everything was perfect
-
Great location Slow on communication when issues - like given the wrong code to get in the door, no parking ticket to find, and bathroom not clean.

Charm in the middle of the center

Like: The room was large and v comfy bed. Nice shower and v quiet overnight. Well located for old town Dislike: Check-in was awful. There are major road works directly outside so no possible to drive the car into the courtyard (which we were not advised of before hand despite booking parking). Then the gate was locked and the telephone access code supplied did not work and we were in the process of calling the property when the gate was kindly opened for us by another guest. Having retrieved the room key from the key safe, we then had great difficulty unlocking the door, compounded by the door knob falling off! When I called the property managers for assistance, they implied it was our fault and stated the door knob was not broken! Despite photographic evidence it was. Eventually we did manage to get into the room and we sorted a temporary fix on the door knob. However we still had the issue of not being able to get back in the main gate if we went out for dinner. The solution for the property was to leave it ajar, which seemed less than ideal, given the door to the building is not locked and eventually they agreed we would phone them on our return from dinner if we could not get back in. As it turned out, the gate had blown wide open, so no problem, but not great in terms of building security. The property managers assured us they will be getting a locksmith to address these issues, but that did not help us during our stay. All of the above made our stay more stressful than it should have been. V quiet overnight, but roadworks started about 8.30 - so no lie in as v noisy!

The accommodation was wonderful, lovely panelled rooms, good comfortable bed with cotton sheets and a good shower. It’s in an excellent location close to the centre of Le Mans and the rooms were quiet. Le Mans centre and Cathedral very beautiful! The communication was awful! We asked for parking and were told we could arrive from 4.00pm. There was no one to let us in, and no one answered the phone until turned five and then no parking had been arranged.

Great location and accommodation. Self check-in went smoothly. Very responsive staff.
-
Very beautiful an aesthetic palace it is not a hotel, but a guest house so there is nobody to serve you at night. This is a problem as we were looking for this type of accommodation as we were only staying a night with children. The parking is as well not available but they state to have one (it's an external one). Communication is difficult with staff as the mobile phone does not answer.

A beautifully decorated room in a historical monument. Quiet and clean, with a lovely young lady taking care of the breakfast downstairs. Highly recommended! The drunk neighbours shouting up the stairs at 0430 AM and being inconsiderate until 0530 AM.

Nothing! The arrogant, combative, owner made the entire experience a nightmare. I will be seeking a full refund. It was the worst experience I have ever had. The room was ice cold, the TV wouldn't work, the wifi wouldn't connect, and the checkout time was 10:AM! The owner refused to assist with heating, TV, wifi, or security. The room was a walk-in freezer!

Clean, nice & big room; convenient parking (paid) Wi-fi doesn’t work; TV but only paid channels. scarce water in the shower; very early checkout (10:00am!) - we had to change plans and not visit the city.

We arrived on a very cold Winter evening. The suite was warm and very comfortable just what we needed after a long journey. We had a slight problem with gaining access, not correctly understanding the instructions on my part, but excellent and immediate communication quick resolved.

The Henri II is in a beautiful building at the heart of Le Mans, perfect for visiting the old town. My spacious, well-equipped room had a very comfortable bed, and the attentive staff was very responsive during the booking. Accessing the venue / parking was challenging with a non-French phone number - this could be mentioned in the instructions email.

Absolutely beautiful historic house on the edge of the old town. Great location and fantastic hosts. Nothing!

Loved this property. The room was fantastic as was the breakfast and Laurence was an amazing host.

Breakfast was superb, the hosts were fab but the location was the best. Not enough storage or hanging space for clothes and the bathroom was super small
