Chiostro dei Domenicani

It’s a gorgeous property. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the gorgeous courtyard and since we were there over the weekend, they had several events going on. Two different birthday parties and a baptism I think but we never really heard much from our room. At least it didn’t bother us. It was fun to see how the Italians celebrate such occasions. They were all dressed beautifully. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal! Nothing.

The service is exceptional, from reception to dining! The rooms are very beautiful and unique with the tall cathedral like ceilings, everything you could need and really lovely ammenities! The entire place is is elegant and lovely, fun to explore. We had lunch at the restaurant and it is was divine! The only drawback is the distance from the old town, a cab is 15euro each way. Since it is off season there is no shuttle. However the hotel kindly arranged the cabs for us so made it very easy and we only had one day so one trip into Lecce. Absolutely worth the distance to stay in this masterpiece of a property filled with so much history!

Friendly staff, amazing venue, and amazing restaurant. not so easy to go into the city without a car

The architecture, the design, the elegance of the place. The rooms were nicely laid out and the bathroom was spacious and comfortable. Gabrielle at the reception was great! We had trouble with the air conditioning for 2 nights. The property doesn’t provide parking facilities.

Awesome historical property. Rooms were beautiful and big . Restaurant was wonderful with great wine selection. Our butler was so well versed and knowledgeable and polite , it was a pleasure to talk to him. Every thing about this hotel is just wonderful. Liked everything.

This hotel is beautiful!!! We really enjoyed our stay. Gabriele and Sara from the front desk were so attentive and made us feel like we were home. It was a short stay of two nights but it was so perfect and we would love to go back. For sure a place to refer to family and friends if planning to go to Lecce!! N/A

We loved our stay at Chiostro dei Domenicani. The property is truly unique and stunning. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is also very well done. We found parking to be effortless and the location to be great for exploring nearby beaches with our car. While it did not bother us, some may find the walk to the Centro Storico to be a bit long as it is about 30 minutes if walking at a brisk pace. This was not an issue for us though and allowed us to walk off all the pasticiotti.

A special mention goes to Anna, who welcomed us with warmth and professionalism. She was incredibly helpful, providing us with great tips for exploring the area and ensuring we felt right at home. Her friendliness made our arrival even more enjoyable. The breakfast experience was another highlight of our stay. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed to start our day off right. The selection was delightful, and it was a wonderful way to fuel up for our adventures in Lecce. Overall, our time at Chiostro dei Domenicani was unforgettable. The combination of historical charm, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit. We can't wait to return! Would be nice if we can pull up the car to the hotel to drop off our bags

Outstanding breakfast, huge room & bathroom (especially by European standards), beautiful grounds, spotless. You can see how monks used to build to last, and you can even see some of the old frescoes under the archways in the cloister. Would make an excellent venue site. A tad closer to the old town gates and a little more space around the swimming pool would have been nice.

Thanks to Antonio for his welcome and valuable advice. upgraded to a very beautiful room with a pleasant high ceiling. The patio was extremely pleasant. I highly recommend it.

Very good

The room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was easy to park on the street nearby. It was a long distance to the historic center and no shuttle was provided. The bathroom window opened out onto a balcony that could be accessed by neighboring rooms and there was no privacy shade - only sheer curtains. Also the entrance to reception was not well marked and we had difficulty finding the entrance.

The hotel is perfect in all senses, but the staff is even better. My daughter got sick while we were there and all of them took care of her as if she was family. I can’t thank them enough.

Exceptional

Incredible renovations for a magnificent result. Staff friendly and helpful. Food excellent. Location good. All around a charming place. Plumbing didn't work great. No grab bars in handicapped room shower or near toilet. Could have used more leisure furniture in room. Two metal chairs were uncomfortable and desk was full of amenities and thus unusable as a desk.

We booked a room with terrace which was really nice. You could sit in the sunshine all day. Unfortunately we had a neighbour who thought it was a shared terrace so we had to ask him to leave. Beautiful old Monastery, beautiful furniture and decorations. Nice pool although it was not heated. Breakfast is amazing. Free parking on the street. Location is nice but could have been a bit closer to the city center but parking was not a problem in the city. The breakfast/dining area has not much atmosphere.
