The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i Resort Lihue

Really impressed with the resort like feel. Great experience overall.

Room was ok, nice/updated, however main areas of the hotel look worn. Not particularly upscale. Pool, beach, and restaurant were fairly nice. Valet staff were not very friendly or helpful. Room was a good rate so I guess you get what you pay for. Good for proximity to airport.

Location, beautiful grounds, updated rooms with balcony overlooking pool & bay.

Exceptional

I appreciated the attention to detail and the customer service. The pool is a great size. You don’t feel crowded by other guests. I enjoyed having the hot tubs open from 7am to 10:00 pm since I had a room without a bath tub.

my husband and I came to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, 1st time in Kauai must say the location is really close to airport and still had no complaints, I must say that I prob won’t be staying here at the sonesta since I will be traveling with my teens and almost 10 year old next time and I know for a fact that they will prob be bored, I wish the property had like a game room or more activities for teens since they get easily get bored, but other then that it was great

Great place to stay!

Beautiful resort with stunning views. The rooms have been renovated but keep in mind the building itself is pretty old, which might be why it’s on the less expensive side of other resorts in Kauai. Regardless, the staff did a great job at cleaning our rooms and helping us anytime we needed something. I even forgot my camera charger in my room after check out and they went and got it from the next guests for me. Overall, had a great experience staying here!

Great property I would definitely stay there again!

Great beach for kids that love waves and boogie boards. Hotel itself is ok. Clean room (cleaning service only every other day). Parking is not great. Food is ok not great. Pool is nice. Hotel is near airport and Walmart. Would I stay again? Probably not but would go back for the waves? Because that was my kids favorite part of the vacation.

Excellent for families and couples alike.

I love how everything was clean and pretty, my only complaint is that our shower got clogged and we had to pack all of our staff to be moved to another room, in which the people that helped us where amazing, but you know when you go vacay you don’t whant to be switching.

Other than that, I give everything else two thumbs up. the onsite restaurant food and drinks were delicious, with healthy options. The location in the bay was wonderful and right close to outside chops and food. I would stay there again for sure.

The pool and beach are awesome with great views from the balcony. The places to eat are great and within walking distance. Be aware that there is a $45/day resort fee + $30/day self parking fee that is not included in your package, so plan on a bit more than what you initially paid.

In addition to the stay was $45/day resort fee, and $30/day parking fee. Hidden fees made this property more expensive than it was worth.

Beautiful resort with balcony view of the bay and ocean. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Food was delicious in all of the restaurants. Pool was fantastic, Beach area and view was phenomenal! The only thing I can say I was disappointed about was, my new wife and I didn't get a Lei when we arrived. Everything else was absolutely perfect. Great stay!
