B&B El Olivar

If you, like us, always look for authentic, comfortable, safe even a bit quirky lodging off the beaten tourist path, you could not do better than staying in the B&B El Olivar. Joseph, the host, lives in the B&B. It is his home, and he does everything possible to make it feel like your home as well. As others have said, he drives you around the neighborhood and provides excellent recommendations for restaurants, places to visit and how to get around ( sometimes offering to drive us himself to restaurants, etc). Our room was spacious with excellent wifi, comfortable bed, hot water and strong water pressure, along with the toiletries, water and cold drinks provided. Whenever we asked for something additionally, Joseph was quick to provide it ( additional towels, hair dryer, juice for breakfast, etc). Breakfasts were lovely....fresh breads, eggs, fruit and lots of good coffee! We loved walking in the San Isadora neighborhood, especially in the olive grove. A safe, quiet, beautiful setting. We had already stayed in the Miraflores neighborhood of Lima at the beginning of our holiday in Peru, and appreciated the quieter neighborhood in which this B&B is set for the end of our trip. Joseph is an exceptional host, who clearly is passionate about meeting his guests and ensuring their stay meets and exceeds all expectations. We are grateful to Joseph for all he did to make our stay unforgettable. Our only suggestion is to get some new towels, linens and bathmats and a quick carpet cleaning to freshen things up a bit. ?

Joseph is a kind, wonderful host and passionate about his job. The b&b is beautiful and homey, and the breakfast very delicious and comforting. Definitely would stay here again!

The host, Joseph, gave us an amazing personal tour of the neighborhood pointing out where he used to bike down the local hill (which turned out to be ancient ruins on the middle of the city), recommended restaurants and told lots of stories about the city. It was wonderful walking around the olive grove filled with local families and waking up to the peaceful sound of the birds. Very good breakfast. Everything was great.

Location was excellent and Joseph was a wonderfully warm host, with great humour and very helpful. He recommended us excellent restaurants, drove us around the first day so we could get acquainted with the area and helped us get our SIM cards. BTW if you are going to Bolivia and Colombia, our Claro SIM worked there too. Breakfast was more than I had expected, and I had to ask Joseph to stop bringing so much food out! Overall, a very lovely stay. Perhaps more hooks in the bathroom for towels?

the location and area were awesome. Really safe, gorgeous views and surrounding parks, as well as easy access to different areas throughout Lima. Joe (the host) was great. Great conversationalist, gave lots of useful tips n tricks, as well as recommendations for various local activities.

Joe is great! My flight arrived late and didn't get there until 10 pm and he accommodated me no problem. Great place to see birds as Parque El Olivar is just outside the front door.

This accommodation is ideally situated for birdwatching at the Olive Gardens and is within walking distance of major sites in San Isidro and Miraflores. Our host was exceptionally kind, making us feel as though we were staying with friends. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. All good.

Everything was perfect. Joseph is an amazing host, very kind, helpful and a trustful person. The room is big, very comfy with a good and big bed. The location is perfect, in the middle of the Bosque el Olivar, where is peaceful and is a beautiful place in San Isidro and you can walk to Miraflores easily or take an Uber. We stayed there twice in the same trip (meanwhile we went to Huaraz) and it was the best decision we made of changing the second hotel in the middle of our trip.

Joseph was the most attentive host I have ever had- from communicating before I even landed in the country, to staying awake to greet me and even taking me for a drive around town to show me the local places. He had every need considered in the rooms from drinks stocked up in the fridge to all the toiletries in the bathrooms, and during breakfast he always came to chat and engage with his guests. Thank you so much Joseph! Everything was perfect!

If you want four in one: a very nice apartment, a delicious varied breakfast, a great location, and a friendly atmosphere, you should stay at B&B El Olivar. The owner, Joseph, is a smiling, friendly, and extremely attentive man. On the first day, he kindly drove us around San Isidro to familiarize us with the area. The next day, my husband felt sick. Joseph took us to the hospital, helped us communicate with doctors, and sort out insurance issues. We felt so comfortable under his care that we decided to stay with him for a few more days. We had wonderful impressions not only from Lima but also from communicating with a pleasant and interesting person who knows the history of Peru.

The location is fantastic, very calm, green and very safe. The staff was cheerful, available, participative, providing all the necessary information about the city, restaurants, museums, etc. Everything at B& B El Olivar was good and pleasant. I enjoy every day

Everything! No complaints

The host was extremely friendly and offered us help with driving us around the area. The location of the house is lovely, in the middle of a very nice park. The breakfast was delicious too! everything was great.

Excellent location, great breakfast with fresh fruits, ham and cheese, coffee and assorted breads. Not to forget fresh juice of your choice! Great rooms, with own A/C, mini bar stocked with yogurt, water, sports drinks, beer, etc. I was told all is restocked on a daily basis at no additional cost! Given this B&B has about 4 or 5 rooms only, you get the personal attention from owner Joseph Berry which makes the experience second to none. Nothing really.

Everything was amazing at Joseph's B&B! He was helpful from the very beginning, long before we even arrived. He helped us reserve our airport pickup and gave us recommendations for where to eat in the city (the places he recommended were fantastic!). He truly thought of every last detail at the property itself, far more than I ever expect at any hotel. I loved the location and the breakfast was fantastic. I truly can't say enough good things about this place, stay here if you come to Lima and want to feel at home! Everything was great, I have no complaints at all
