Hotel Nacional

This is a really old hotel. And you can smell and see it. The only good things is the location and the staff. The breakfast was very bad. And my room had some sort of bugs, maybe bedbugs, in the bed.

I enjoyed my stay here as it met all of our needs. Simple comfort, cleanliness and great staff. Typical Portuguese breakfast served by a very busy wait person. She was just so lovely. Don't worry, the pillows are in the closet! LOL!!!! THere is no fridge if you need one. I do not recall seeing that in the discription. Everything was just fine. I was in need of nothing.

It is your basic hotel with good Wifi, excellent location and good basic breakfast. The staff is very friendly. Good choice for the price if you are ok with a basic dwellings. Fridge in the room is extra That if you need a fridge in the room it is extra and only one pillow to sleep with.

The street was noisy at times, but I have light sleep.

The bathroom was not cleaned, full of hair. I went to the reception and complained about this and the receptionist was very polite, apologized for the issue and gave me a room upgrade.

Staff interactions, location,and value for time spent, available parking in garage. No available snacks machine for late night used, limited Vue from my window.

Nothing Everything

We checked in and went to the room that had a strong chemical smell like moth balls, we were thinking what they spray to kill the bugs. We were given another room that had the same smell so bad that my wife was coughing and choking. We then cancelled the reservation and left asking for a full refund as the room was not up to basic standards. And a funny thing there was a tour group of 10 people who were all complaining about their reservations as we were leaving. I walked out and put a claim into Booking.com for a full refund of which they said they will consult the hotel at which they responded that there were no other customers that complained about the chemical smell! It has been 12 days since the cancellation the hotel is attempting to do nothing about the refund and shame on Booking.com for researching the hotel and not giving some recourse to their customers. Can't forget I have better rags with less holes than their bath towels.

All staff was friendly and extremely helpful. It was extremely outdated for the price.

Simple straightforward honest stay, location location location. We dont like to share secrets but spirit and staff here so deserves. Best bang for buck in the area by far.

It was just for a night so I couldn’t really benefits about any of the good or bad of the place. I believe the hotel is quite hold….maybe some repair would benefit the guests
