Breakfast was very good in the pub downstairs. Nothing really, I was very happy.

We were a little early and our room was still being made up, so we settled in the bar for a drink and were then told it was complimentary, which was a nice start. The room was air-conditioned, which I hadn't expected as it's a quirky old property, but that was very welcome in the heat wave! Location was excellent, loads going on (including the all night meat market which might be a little noisy for some if you don't have ear plugs) and the proximity of the Elizabeth line underground made getting around a breeze. The extractor fan in the bathroom could have been a bit stronger to extract condensation after showering, but no complaints otherwise.

The location was spot on and the room had some much needed aircon! Plus the shower was impressive. The bar downstairs was really nice too and the staff really friendly. Thank you!

Location good, and the room had lovely facilities. Comfortable bed, pleasant bathroom and excellent tea and coffee making kit. AirCon worked well. It’s a bit pricy, especially without breakfast. And the climb up and down to the third floor was something of a scramble.

Was very pleasantly surprised by the “room above the pub”. Beautifully decorated and fitted out. Lots of extras (some free, some chargeable). Super comfortable bed and spacious room with beautiful roll top bath in the bathroom. Far better than other hotels I’ve stayed in that have cost a lot more. Great location close to the underground. Nice and quiet for sleeping. Some minor decor needed repaired in the bathroom

The space was wonderful. The a/c was cold. The patio space has windows overlooking it so I did not use that area. Hot water, perfect tub after a day on your feet. Comfortable bed. Steep stairs to the room. Narrow stairs.

Great room, great location. Boutique rooms. Breakfast option was excellent. Foul smell from the bathroom in one of the rooms. Staff helpful yet a little standoffish but that may please some.

Great room, very comfortable. Good quality bed linen other nice touches. Indifferent staff. Not sure if this is because they are bar staff first and foremost, but a combination of lack of experience and customer attention meant that the service experience did not match the standard of the room itself. After 3 nights I would have hoped to be asked how our stay was, but check out was like taking your empty glass back to the bar on your way out. The experience was the same in the bar. It looks a great pub, but it just feels lacking. Not helped either when you have a member of staff / manager who berated his junior staff member, at length, right beside customers, both drinkers and diners. Very awkward and unpleasant. It might also explain why this historic looking pub was pretty dismal. During our stay we coincidentally had lunch at another Young's establishment, the Coach and Horses in Kew. What a difference. Staff there were excellent. Lastly; it might not affect others but the very effective air conditioning/ heating system does a grand job. However no matter what setting you use, it seems impossible to stop the interminable thrum that was not overly noticeable at first but was driving me demented by the third night. Maybe it wasn't the a/c but something else. Whatever it was it was constant.

The location was brilliant - so easy to get around central London. The staff were really friendly - I wish we'd had chance to pop down to the pub for a drink but I was running the London Marathon so it was a super busy weeekend! The suite was really spacious and quiet - we slept really well and didn't have any downstairs or street noise as the suite is away from the road. The bath was luxurious! The room was really well decorated and the king size bed was super comfy! The overhead shower didn't seem to work and the handheld didn't have a lot of pressure to it, though I completely appreciate with an older building, the plumbing might not be very easy to upgrade!

Nicely furnished room The layout of the room was awkward and there was no view from the window. We specified that it was for a birthday but there were no thoughtful touches which was a shame given the expensive room.
