Hotel room clean, we were upgraded however had to wait for quite a long time despite being post check in time of 3pm. I also requested an extension of an hour for late check out due to my baby’s feeding times and was told I would be contacted but didn’t hear anything. Fitness facilities great, baby items provided also great. The food - since yesterday on check out I have been violently sick with either food poisoning or a stomach bug which has definitely been caused from my stay at the hotel. I’m certain this is actually food poisoning and came from eggs I ordered at breakfast. They appeared pretty congealed and set when I looked at the plate but I didn’t think more of this. My husband ate almost exactly the same items as I did and hasn’t been sick. It’s really disappointing as I booked the stay as a treat for my family as my baby is due to have surgery tomorrow (Monday) at Great Ormond street and I have been unable to leave our property yesterday or today which has added to an already stressful situation. We have dined a number of times at ABC Kitchens a number of times and never had issues with the food so I’m extremely surprised and upset that our visit has ended on this note. It’s not an experience I would expect from a 5* hotel. Additionally we had to wait for our luggage for quite a while on check out - we were told we they would be left outside with the porters so we went to Cedric Grolet to pick up drinks and pastries (also had to wait ages here as apparently the drink my husband ordered wasn’t made correctly) and when returning to reception over 20 minutes later they still hadn’t been sent to the front of the hotel. We had to chase twice for this and staff appeared to not have a clue on where our belongings were.
